Our case is on hold due to NVC needing original docs. No clue that was even a requirement! Taking deep breathes. Can't do anything until Monday.

  hi Viv and Cata, i see others have replied already. you must indeed mail your original documents to the States (Cata's birth certificate, your marriage certificate and Cata's passport, as well as original police records etc.).you can use a courier mail service or registered mail through the Romanian Postal Service (which will get you a tracking number) to ensure that the documents don't get lost. you'll receive them at the visa interview, as your entire file ends up at the US ...
