i just had my interview today in seattle office! supposed to have my interview last jan 18 but it was cancelled due to bad weather. it was rescheduled today finally! i brought my 3month old baby with me in the interview.
my interview was scheduled at 11am and we arrived at 10:40. i was called at around 11:10. many people are already waiting to be called. so when I heard my name called by the IO she asked me where my husband was? I told her he is currently deployed and asked if my mother in law could come with me inside to carry my baby for me and she said its fine.
as expected we started with the oath and swear to tell no lies blah blah blah. after we seated she immediately asked me if I have with me my husband's orders and I told her that only a letter from his CO was the one that i brought. she said it fine and I gave her the document she is asking for. then same sets of questions like in k1. when and where did you meet? how many times did she visit me in the Philippines. then she asked for my son's birth certificate.
I can't give her the original so she kept the photocopy instead. Then she keeps on writing down notes as I answer all her questions. Also, she asked for wedding photos and scanned everything that I prepared. during the whole time of the interview my son has been crying. hehe. poor baby. So the IO turned to my son and told him that we will be done soon and then finally turned again to me and said that I will receive my green card in 4-6weeks. yey! upon hearing that I smiled and thanked her and said goodbye.
I am so happy to start february with a very good news! I'm just glad this is about to end. i hope to receive the GC sooner so that I can get an SSN and my husband can file
his taxes soon and claim me and my son as his dependents.
God Bless us all.
can somebody tell me for those who were able to receive their GCs? how many days from their interview did they get their GCs in the mail?

Congratulations to everyone who received GC'S or had successful interviews this week - it is fantastic!
I've just completed my first week at my new job - I had a great time! But WOW...I had forgotten how tiring a 45hr week was - and how there is little time to do much else mid week. I am in no way complaining though, I'm very happy that life is settling down for me and my other half
No news from CSC regarding my case however - its starting to get a little annoying - Oh well...patience is a virtue and all that...

I checked the uscis web page this morning and it said the Seattle office is closed. All interviews will be rescheduled according to the notice poste.
yup! i called them first. on what part in the website did you see the post? I couldnt find it this morning so i waited for 8am to call the customer service.
I feel a bit sad though it was postponed. I hope Its not gonna take long again waiting for the new schedule. I just want this over.

So we just got back from our AOS interview in Seattle (btw there is a big snow storm coming into seattle tomorrow and IOs are being told that they can arrive 2 hours late if needed).
We arrived at 11:00am for our 11:15am interview. They were still interviewing people from the 10:30-11:15 slots - likely a result of IOs arriving late due to snow. At around 11:35 they called my name (beneficiary). Our IO was a very pleasant woman. She brought us (my wife, our lawyers and me) back to her office and proceeded to swear us in. She asked the basic information like my DOB and full name, where I lived and who lived with me - including how many rooms our apt has - and then asked how we met. We had with us a photo album of our court wedding and reception, which she went to grab and asked if we had brought that for her to see. She asked us who different people were in the photos and how many people we had at the reception.
After going through the Y/N questions from 1485, she asked if we had anything else for her - so I pulled out the passport, I94 and EAD. She asked me when I first entered the US and took my I94 and stapled it to the file she had with my information.
She then said that she would review our information once more before approving the application. If she needed more information, she said she would notify us through out lawyer - otherwise that we should receive the GC in the mail within one month.
I think everything went well and I hope that she just does this for everyone and I hope we get approved!! Just to note, she did not take our EAD nor did she stamp anything on any document of ours.
I'll keep you all posted as soon as I hear more form USCIS!
 Hopefully we will get my GC and welcome letter within the next two weeks!
congratulations! I am pretty sure it will arrive in no time. I received a call earlier from USCIS regarding my interview tomorrow. I was asleep so they left message in the voicemail. They told me to just check on the website if they are open tomorrow before I go. I was just wondering on what part in the website should I check if their office in Seattle is open or not?
it will be an hour drive so I need to know ahead of time. I am not feeling so well about this. The weather is not cooperating.

Congrats on the little one!
Best Wishes to you on your interview!!
thank you!

I have my interview at the Seattle office today. The weather reports say the snow will pick up tomorrow evening so you might be able to make a morning appointment without any problems. I do know that today the immigration officers were were allowed to arrive two hours late, FYI. I'll post some more information once I get out of my interview in about two hours. Wish me luck!
i will be coming from mt vernon, that would be an hour drive. I need to bring baby with me so that's what im worrying about. he might get sick
anyway. i am excited to hear your experience.

We had a photo book made from the wedding for gifts to people, so we brought that, she was thrilled to look through it. We showed her our medical insurance, bank account with both names on it, and cards + envelopes from the last 4 months (so wedding and christmas time). The cards with the envelopes that came through the mail that had Mr. & Mrs ___ on it were very helpful she said. She only looked at those and our photo ids. Our folder was very well documented and organized, so she only had a few things to go over such as our address, questions about the house (since my husband and his mother are listed as the owners, she co-signed). I was super nervous going, about the same level as k-1 interview, but they were very nice there. Very busy, but the interviewing lady was really a sweetheart.
you guys are so lucky to have that lady for your interview. thank you for replying. I only have a few photos printed because we just had a civil wedding so it was a simple celebration only. i just hope those pictures would be enough. il bring my child's birtj certificate. i just gave birth 2 months ago. I just really hope everything will be ok.
by the way. I am from mount vernon. how about you guys?

Just back from our AOS interview in Seattle. The lady interviewing us was very nice, the whole time was smiling and very friendly. She said they were running behind that day, but we were only waiting about 15 minutes after our scheduled time, so no biggie there. She asked us general questions about address, have we married before etc. Showed her a book from our wedding (photo book), medical cards for insurance, joint bank account, and passports/id. That was it. She said we were approved and should get it within 10 days. Feeling pretty awesome right now
hi there! and congratulations! i too is scheduled to have an interview on the 18th in seattle. i wanted to ask how much pictures did she ask? or any other documents she told u to give her. i will be alone on the interview because my husband is currently deployed. i am very nervous. i hope you can give me tips in the interview. thank you and God Bless

note: I didn't know that lots of documents shall be prepared for the interview. I am nervous to go alone!
-
just wondering.. what's their basis for waiwing the interviews?
-
Sure, bring any documentation regarding the deployment.
unfortunately we werent able to prepare for that. i do not have his orders with me.

Hi there, and welcome! I think the reason that most people apply for EAD as well as GC is because technically, green cards can take up to two years to get, where as EAD is usually no longer than 3 months. I don't know why this is, or if this is still the case, but this is what I was told so it is often safer to just apply for EAD and AP since it could take while for GC and you can't leave unless you have either AP or GC. I think having AP even if not used makes people feel more secure for "just in case" they need to leave the US. Anyway, it looks like lately GC's come through shortly after EAD approvals anyway, so probably nothing that will concern you, just a bit of info.
i see. i ddnt know it can take up to 2yrs to get tha GC. anyhow can i still apply for an AP and EAD separately? we were planning to go back to the Philippines by next year. i will surely be needing that AP. i really think i can have the GC early next year. i feel sad already.

Hi iammrslab,
unfortunately there's nothing fast when it comes to USCIS. Processing times for the I-485 are independent from the fact that you filed or not also for EAD and AP. The average waiting for a SMOOTH K1 related AOS process seems to be around 2 months and half from NOA1 so I would start hoping for something after the first week of January. Good luck btw and no RFEs!
thanks. i do hope there wont be any RFEs for me or any other problem that may occur. i still have one more problem though. in case i will be called for an interview, would they require to have my husband come with me? i am afraid yes, because he wont be around til mid next yr. he is currently deployed as of the moment. so he could not accompany me with that interview. so as i read that some do not get any interviews and just received their GCs after being transferred to CSC. keeping my fingers crossed! I really want that GC soon before the year ends hopefully. it would be the best Christmas gift for me if it happens. =)

hello everyone. im new here! iv been following this thread for quite sometime now. i am an october filer too. my hubby sent the aos package to chicago lock box last oct 24 and was received by oct26. i already did my biometrics last dec8. its been a weel already and no update yet on the uscis website. would it make the process easier? because we only filed for i485 alone, we no longer filed for the EAD and AP since i dont have any plans of working and leaving the country soon. i was hoping too get my green card faster than anyone else 'coz i only applied for the adjustment as a permanent resident? hope somebody could tell me something that would enlighten my thoughts. god bless everyone =)
