  1. Dear Conio,

As fellow VJers have mentioned above. You are better off doing it yourself. Yes you need to spend some time to read up and understand the process, but doing it yourself has the benefit of your drive and tenacity to see it go through well. A lot of lawyers will only do you a job at their convenience..and if you demand that drive and tenacity as part of the service you wont probably get it or you will have to pay more.

plus there is a wealth of wisdom and help here on VJ...:)

  2. G+A, I really sympathize with you on this. Don't waste your life any further.

I could wish I was your brother or friend right now. I probably will hit you with a brick on the head so you would wake up from this state of mind you are in.

Reading your last post it is obvious you are not sharing what everyone is advising here. But please so that it does not get worse ABSCOND like Gowon advised.

It is just not worth the risk. However you look at it - Left, right, center, back, front..... Its best to just drop from this bus and move on.

    Wish you all the best.

  3. Dont Risk this... waiting a little will not cost you as much as you think it would. If you get denied - it will not only set you back, it is another reason to further scrutinize you and your spouse. You really do not know whether you'll end up with some "crazy" officer that will quiz you hard. That said if you do decide to go ahead, I wish you good luck. Please post your experience for future VJer's to learn

  4. Hi All,

While Rhastyles did go a little too far, I think he did not mean harm. Just someone that is looking to help other people thats all.

I tell you, if you read a majority of posts on VJ you see a lot of Exaggerated negative posts...I guess he was not expecting it to be so smooth hence the excitement.

But Rhastyles sure screamed from the rooftop on this one.

    Smith.

  5. Thanks everyone for your responses.

As far as red flags I do not think I have one. I am Nigerian by birth. I met my fiance before I came to the USA in 2008 via visa lottery. But we were just acquaintances back then.

We started our relationship in 2010. And I have been to Nigeria to meet her parents in 2011. Wanted to get married last year but I told her it would be better to wait a little more so I can get my naturalization over. Now that's done and I just want the fastest route for us. Either way we are going to get married...I just thought it would be wise to seek out the fastest route/ way to ensure we are together with the shorter option . Plus the wait is not in any way palatable to say the least.

    Thanks for ur help.

    Smith.

  6. Hi Fellow VJers,

I have been a silent follower of the forum and the impact of this forum is priceless.

Now I am gathering information as I intend to start paper work gathering to enable my now Fiancee' join me here in the USA (she is Nigerian).

To this end can someone please help me with some information on which pathway is best for me and my wife to be? i have read on ths forum that K3 is obsolete as it were and that K1 and CR1 take about the same time to process. As many people in Love would say...our most preferred option would be the one that offers us the fastest rout to her joining me here. We are not married yet. but this is no issue. we are planning this anyways...thinking sometime in the summer or even before. Also, if anyone has been through this before kindly chip in. Your help is sincerely appreciated.

Thanks you for your help. :D

  8. Hi fellow Visa-sojourners,

I've followed this forum for a while and think its blessing and a good source of helpful information. A big thank you to you all for all your help.

I recently applied for Adjustment of status from a permanent resident to a US citizen. The Application was denied at the last minute because I had staid outside of the USA in 2008 for over a year...This was so painful because it was 5 days over the 364 day limit due to some flight arrangement difficulties. I was told to re-apply after 4years + 1 day which will be due in November.

Anyways, I was planning to go to Nigeria this year but need to clarify if this would have any effect on my application (would impact it positively or negatively). I was out of the country for a while because of School (back and forth). i made 2 other trips the first was about 6 months ( in 2009) and later 2 weeks last year. I intend to make a 3 week trip sometime this summer.

My question is Will this in any way have a negative impact on my application?

    Thanks

    Smith
