  1. Hello All,

I have a quick question. I'm filling out the I-485 for my soon to be wife and am wondering if on the form I should be filling in her married name(she will be adding my last name and dropping hers) or should the form be completed as her single name(which is how all the K1 visa forms were completed). Any assistance on this question is much appreciated. I want to avoid the application being rejected due to error or trouble down the road with a green card with an unmarried name.

    Thank you,

    Franklin Henriquez

  2. I received the following email from the San Salvador Embassy and I'm not sure what to make of it. We got a call last week from the embassy but the officer wouldn't say if the visa was approved. "under Section 221g of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), pending further documentary evidence in her case. To overcome this ineligibility, the case underwent an administrative processing. The administrative processing was completed on February 13, 2012.

The applicant's case is being reviewed by a consular officer at this moment. As soon as the process is completed, we will contact Ms.xxx".

    Anyone experienced this before?

  3. Hello All,

I just spoke with my fiance who got a call from the US embassy today. Just some backgrounds, we've been in AP since Oct. 2011 and recently had a joint interview on Jan. 17(second interview). My fiance got a call from the interviewing officer from Jan who asked the same questions as in the interview. At the end he said the interview was over and that the case no longer had anything to do with the Visa Unit. He also told my fiance that she should receive a call from the residents department and she should receive a packet. She asked if she was approved but the officer wouldn't say Yes or no either way. He also wouldn't say how long it would take to hear from the other department other then to say it wouldn't take too long. My question is has anyone experienced anything like this? I've read over more posts than I can count and have never heard of this. I contacted the embassy by email on Friday and also got a generic response that said the Visa Unit could not continue

with my case and my fiance would be contacted once AP was complete.

  4. **** Moving from K1 to Tourist visa forum *****

Your father can send an invitation letter, outlining how long the brother will stay, what they'll do together and (if appropriate) that he will pay for the brother's trip, but it has little relevance. Your uncle needs to apply and qualify on their own, by showing strong ties to his home country, ie reasons he will definitely return, such as a job, property, leaving behind wife and kids etc.

Thank you for the info. What form would my including need to fill and where should it be filed?
