      Best of luck. We're still figuring out how our consulate is since ours got moved from Chennai to Mumbai (yay reorganization). Going for medicals early next month, we pre-did some of the relevant tests a few months back just to be sure (she was nervous).

    does anyone know how to extend the petition .. the consular officer extends it but how ?? what should i do? .. i dont have all the documents and its gonna take me more than 4 months to get them , so worried, its killing me :'(

      then 3-5 days business days later get the information you requested. The staff at the VFS office locations (see consulate site for list) are fairly knowledgable and can answer most questions straight away.

      Generally you have 4 months from the issue date of the NOA2. Check the "Valid from period" on your NOA2.

      You can try and request information / clarification from VFS at infousmumbai@vfshelpline.com.

      FYI, The recently outsourced email/phone support to VFS and you should fully expect their support to be fairly useless, but eventually you'll get a response. Expect 2 business days to get a standard "we have to ask the consulate" response and then get t...

      And FYI, Finally got our 'Packet 4' and we never did receive our 'Packet 3' that was supposedly sent to us on April 9th.

      Packet 3 is easy. I see you're also Mumbai consulate, so just go to: http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivforms.html

      You need:

      * Instruction package for K-3 visa applicants

      * DS-156

      * Form DS-230 (Part I)

      For the packet 3 response. If you're near one of the South Indian VFS centers you can have them 'courier' them to the consulate (apparently no fee nor receipt for the packet 3 courier service).

    So as we approach the new year, I want to wish my fellow VJrs a very happy new year and I pray that the new year will bring, all of us, what we are so eagerly waiting for! Those NOA1 or that long awaited NOA2, which keep me up at night, is just around the corner guys/gals. Come January, may we all get our long awaited replies from our dear friends at the USCIS irrespective of their location! Happy New Year fellow Petitioners, happy new year indeed…..! ;-)
