  1. Congrats !! Finally!!!

Would you share an interview date with us? (And if you remember, notice receipt date too)

Our interview was on July 24, 2015 at our local USCIS office. We were told at the conclusion of our interview that we were approved and, in fact, the examiner even stated that she didn't understand why we were even interviewed because the papers we originally submitted were complete. She did keep about 20 of the family photos that we brought with us and some additional paperwork that we wanted to submit as proof. She said that the green card would be mailed in about 2 weeks but we didn't hear anything until the e-mail I received saying we were approved. The e-mail was received on August 13, 2015. Hope this helps

  2. It is my impression that USCIS is currently flying by seat of its pants when it comes ROC processing. The petition processing times are all over the board, some get an interview, some don't, some get transferred, some don't. Other folks due to the glut of work at USCIS, have to apply for an extension of their 1-year extension letter. I mean, c'mon, they have a year to adjudicate it, and they can't get to it, or can't get it together. :ranting:

In our case, after seven months of inactivity we got an RFE from an adjudicator seeking more picayune "marriage bonafides." We had submitted over six pounds of paper evidence with the initial petition submission. It took an additional almost four more pounds of evidence to satisfy the hyper-vigilant adjudicator. :protest: The approval came one week after the RFE submission. Our next step was going to be involving the CISOMB, and US Federal Senator. We wanted an approval, or an interview. Even a denial, would have then got us our day in court with an immigration judge. You just have to keep prodding USCIS along.....

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Thanks for your input. This has been so much more aggravating that our initial request for the CR visa which went so smoothly. I have my State Senators office involved in this also and maybe they can help. We asked at Infopass about a date for the interview and were told that no appointments would be set until late July. Maybe we can get an earlier interview. Even that would be welcome at this point.

  3. So we finally got an Infopass appointment in early June and the Immigration officer informed us that they had just received our case in the West Palm Beach,FL office from CSC and we would be scheduled for an interview. I questioned why they wanted to interview us and she answered that it was a standard procedure in some cases. I'm a native born American and my wife is a native born Canadian and we are both in our 60's so I can't understand why they would possibly want to interview us. Anyone have any ideas why and what kind of questions could they possibly ask. We did get my wife's passport stamped at the office which allows her to remain here for an additional year.

  4. Oupssssss!.....With all the excitement of my wife finishing her interview on September 4, I actually posted her results in the wrong Visajourney forum!

Anyways, the interview went fast, smooth and she was APPROVED! The details are in my post on the consulate reviews for Montreal!

I want to send a very big special THANK YOU to Saylin for her Wiki and for all the help she gave us along the way! Thanks also to all the others that answered our questions.

We already have her visa with us and we should do POE this Monday!

Good luck to all those still in the process and don't lose faith. Follow everything you find here on Visajourney and don't be afraid to ask questions when necessary!

  5. My wife finally had her interview on Tuesday in Montreal after 7 months of waiting and frustrations!.....Everything went so very smoothly thanks to all the help and advice we received here on Visajourney!.....A very big "special" thank you goes to Saylin for guiding us with her Wiki and her replies to our questions!

I will post a review of the interview in the Montreal consulate section and Darquise and I would like to wish you all a fast and successful journey through the immigration process!

  6. My dear husband's interview is next Tuesday in Montreal - I'm flying up Saturday to meet him there, we figured that we'll spend a couple days extra enjoying the city, since neither of us have been there before.

I've compiled the paperwork per other's reviews of the consulate's requirements, and we've gone over the questions, etc....I'm nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room of rocking chairs! All this time apart and now we may finally get to live together as 'regular' married folks take for granted....it's like getting married all over again! Argh!

I'm so glad to see everyone's cases seem to be making progress - hoping and wishing that we'll all be with our loved ones soon, forever :luv:B-)(L)

My wife's interview is the same day in Montreal so I'm sure we'll get to meet at the consulate!.....I'm driving up this Friday and looking forward to spending a week with my wife in the Montreal region before we head back to the States!.....I am so ready for this to be over so we can live together like any normal married couple!......Good luck on your husband's interview and good luck to everyone else riding the immigration merry-go-round!......Special thanks to Saylin and everyone else who helped us along the way!

  7. I received an e-mail today stating that NVC has received all documents necessary to complete NVC"s processing, and as soon as an interview date has been scheduled, we will be notified. My wife is in Toronto, Canada, and the interview will be in Montreal. We processed everything electronically. Does anyone have any idea around when the interview will take place at the current moment for Montreal?

Don't know if this will help you but we received our CASE COMPLETE email on July 13 and our interview email on August 6 for our September interview! Best of luck to you!

  8. My wife will be interviewing in Montreal on September 4 and I have a few questions!

I will be driving into Canada to attend the interview with her. Can anyone give me an idea of the parking situation in the vicinity of the embassy. I know there is metered street parking outside the embassy but I am more interested in secure, "all-day" type parking without the need to worry about parking meters.

Also, our early plan is to stay at the Holiday Inn on Blvd Rene Levesque an walk to the embassy. Parking at the hotel doesn't seem to be an option and I am more interested in the hotel itself for an overnight stay.

Thanks for any advice you can give us!

  9. After 3 weeks.....finally got our interview date! I'm hyperventilating, it's so exciting!

Thank you all SO VERY MUCH (esp Saylin and Darnell and company!) for all of your guidance, wisdom and patience. Please think happy thoughts for us....

Congratulations on getting your interview date! My wife will be interviewing at Montreal the same day so I am sure we will bump into each other! Best of luck!

  10. Yesssssss!......We finally received our interview date (September 4) yesterday via email from the NVC. Seven months of waiting will finally be coming to an end!

Thanks to all the members of VJ for your help along the way, especially to Saylin! It would have been very difficult, if not impossible, to do this on our own. Saylin, your wiki has been our step-by-step guide throughout the process and your answers to our questions have always helped!

We hope August will be a good month for everyone waiting at NVC and we wish you all the very best of luck!

  11. I was really, really hoping to be done with NVC by now, but it appears they just love me toooo much and want to keep me close and snuggly.

May-June-July-August. So much for a short transit time, lol

Called in to check on status of interview being scheduled today just for the giggles - Operator "Greg" tells me that interview scheduling for Canada has currently been placed "ON HOLD" until September....what? Has anyone heard anything on this? Or is it more fallacy along the lines of the "only scheduled on second week of the month" business?

Sending out good wishes for everyone to get speedy case completes and interview dates!

Hi StormHerald!.....We are a day behind you with the case complete and waiting for a Montreal interview also!......I just spoke with a "Rose" at the NVC and asked about Canada being put "ON HOLD" until September!......She responded that the operators at NVC do not know the availability of interview dates at the different embassies and she had not heard of any embassies being full for August scheduling!.....Let's hope she knows what she's talking about.....I hope we all get our "interview dates" and "case completes" in the quickest possible time!

  12. Thanks Saylin, Amenspanglish, kingilbert and lemayz for the congrats!

Just got off the phone with an extremely nice operator at NVC (Amanda) and she confirmed what Saylin and others have already said. NVC schedules interviews all month long and she said there's even a chance that we may be able to get ours in Montreal before the end of August!.....I'm just glad to be this close to the end!
