  1. I want share my good news with all of you that after 232 days, I just received a text message from USCIS that my petition has been approved. I can not believe it and has just finished telling my fiancee the good news. I was seriously expecting and RFE or a rejection after all this time but I guess some petitions are just used as door stoppers until you file a service request. Thank God and thank you all for your support and encouragement on this difficult journey and I prey that all of you that are waiting will receive good news soon. :D

  2. I will go to see my fiancee next week God willing and I was truly hoping to surprise her with some good news. I am hoping that my service request which was filed last Friday will bare fruits by this Friday which is my birthday. At the rate VSC is going with me, I seriously do not think we will hear anything until November or December. It is not easy waiting 230 days and not knowing if there is an RFE on the way and to add to the frustration the lawyer that filed my petition is not even responding to my repeated questions. The only positive thing from all the waiting is that I got to know my fiancee even more and we are closer as a result. I have been able to visit her every month for the last year and my passport is running out of pages for more stamps and I am running out of money as well. At this point I will be happy if my petition is just touched or RFE'd but nothing is very frustrating. Sorry to bother all of you with my sad story. I am thinking if I am approved soon how do I get off my 7 month addiction of checking my status online every hour of every day? This is worse than the Facebook addiction that some people have.

    :help:

  3. Here's how you find your 'window'. Don't even log in, you don't have to. Just go to "Status Update" at the top. Enter your number.

From that point, change the last number of the entire string. Start going backwards. For example, if your number is (randomly picked) WAC123456, change the 6 to a 5. When you hit submit, it should still say I-129f Petition for Fiance. The status may be post decision, initial review, or RFE, etc. Keep changing that last number backwards until the form changes from I-129 to some other form and stop. You now know where your group begins.

Next, type your number in again, and change the last number to a 7. Same process, only counting up. When the form type changes in that direction, you then have the complete group on your stack. Make a Word doc with a table, and list them out, with their status at the right. Label yours, of course as ME :) Does this make sense?

Thank you tigerglower and islandgal. I will do that tonight.

  5. Just got our NOA2. Text that the case was updated and then upon checking saw it was approved. I fully believe it was because I put a service request in Friday. If any of you still waiting haven't put one in DO SO NOW!

I called Friday and they told me my case is within normal processing time (NoA 1 3/5/12). How did you get through them for a service request. I would like to that on Tuesday if I can.

Eilyn went ahead and got one a couple of months ago. It's easy and was dated 20 March 2012. Address at the bottom of the certificate is: CARRERA 2E # 50 -03 TEL 304-400-4795.

At the top says: ARQUIDIOCESIS DE BARRANQUILLA, PARROQUIA SAN MARTIN DE TOURS, BARRAQUILLA, ATLANTICO - COLOMBIA.

This certificate basically says whether the person ever was married. In Eilyn's case, she never married, so I believe this is why they asked for the certificate.
