  1. My Fiance has twins and we are NOT planning to bring them anytime soon because they are still young. On the intruction packet it says that all applicants must fill out the DS-156 and DS-230 and the girls said to be traveling applicants.

Should we fill out these forms for each girl even if they aren't traveling with him and we don't know when we're bringing them? (note, they don't have a passport as required on these forms)

    Thanks for your help!

  2. Ok so I need an sponsor because I do not meet the poverty line to support my Fiance since on the past tax return I reported my sister as my dependent. My mother is offering to sponsor him BUT on December 2011 she filed a petition to bring my sister to the USA. The addafit form asks for who you have sponsored and in what years. My mother sponsored my sister on December 2011. However, she did not report my sister as her dependent in the tax return, it was me who reported her..

do you think this would cause me problems? should I get a different sponsor?

  3. So I juat schedule the interview date for my fiance and we were wondering which doctor should he see. We heard a lot of things about some Panel Doctors in Colombia. We are seeking for advice depending on your experience. We want to spend the least $$ possible.

Quisiera saber cual doctor es mejor para la cita de mi prometido. Hemos escuchado muchas cosas malas de ellos y pues no queremos que nos roben por decirlo asi. Les agradeceria su ayuda. Gracias

  4. Are you planning to fly the beginning of august for the interview? If so you may as well reschedule your flight. It could take a month or more AFTER the embassy receives your petition from the NVC. Wait until you have the interview date before making plans to fly there.

I decided to fly on August because it's Fiance's birthday not for the interview. But now my fiance doesn't really want me to go. He rathers me to wait until the interview so we don't spend a lot of money

  5. It all depends on how fast the USCIS can get all approved petitions to the NVC, it may take a few days, a few weeks or even a couple of months. I wouldn't go by what the NVC tells you because most petitions arrive there and are assigned a case number within a week. If you want you can call every day or every other day to find out if they have it, you may get an annoyed rep who is sick of you calling but who cares? You need this info ASAP and an annoyed rep cannot get in the way.

    Diana

hahaha Thanks Diana, well they will be getting calls everyother day, like you said who cares hahah.

  6. Sooo I just called the NVC and they told me to Wait 15 days after NOA2 to see if they received my petition. As I understood, they had the case number within a week after NOA2. Can someone please clarify this for me ? I have a plane ticket for the bigining of August on hand and I want to see if it's best to postpone my trip, but in order to do so, I need to know my interview date.

  7. Just got an email saying "On July 16, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)"

I am dying of happiness right now!!!! However I do not know what to do. I planned a trip to go see my boo for a week at the begining of august (have the tickets already) and now that I receive this email, I do not know if it's best to postpone that trip. How long is it taking from this stage to the interview??

  8. A long marriage is never granted for anyone You can choose to marry a US citizen and get divorced in a couple of years, same thing marrying someone from overseas. If you are planning to marry your fiance and you're already thinking about a divorce, you should ask yourself why are you getting married after all. Don't think about divorce before even trying. Give yourself a chance to be happy and to feel that reward of being able to fight for your dreams even if they don't last as long as you'd wished. I would say be prepared for anything but do not think negatively or that it will happen to you because we attract what we think and those thoughts can become true. So think positive and think that you guys are going to be happy for whatever time, life keeps you together. I'm just saying....

  9. I called on Thrusday and the representative told me the system did not show the exact day they were working on, so I don't know how credible is that January 9th. However, the lady told me that in order to get a service request I would have to call in 18 days and only then, they would process it.

I just emailed the congresswoman from my district and hopefully she can help me speed up the process. I don't think is a bad idea to start calling VSC to get them work on our petitions.

  10. Ok so I just got of the phone with a USCIS representative. I asked her for a service request and I was indicated that VCS January filers can start calling 18 days from now to request one. She did not have information about what day they are working on :(

I just wanted to share this info & hopefully we start hearing from them very soon :)

  11. What's going on at VSC??? I'm so tired of waiting and not hearing anything from them. Sadly, today I complete 5 months into the K1 process and not getting an email from them is driving me insane! I know I am not the only one here going through this but I just need words of comfort. The distance is causing my fiance and I a few problems and sadly we've been arguing a lot lately. Why? I don't even know. When can I start calling the VSC to ask for a service request? This whole situation is really getting on my nerves.

  12. hello everyone I have a NOA1 date of 01/23/2012 and I am nearing my 5 month mark which is on Saturday to be exact. Does anyone have any update on anything that is going on at VSC? If they are even doing anything at all. I checked my case online and I see that it was "touched"(whatever that really means)in early February but thats it. I called last week and was told they were processing January 23rd applications which gave me some hope but I am just beyond fustrated by this point. I even gave up on calling them because I feel like they arent even doing anything over there and I was just getting nowhere with them. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH this is driving me INSANE

Ughhh we're on the same page Yali. I'm going crazy waking up everyday around 3 am to check my email to see if I received my NOA2. With the VSC speed I don't think that I will get married on the date we wanted. :(

  13. That's the risk we all take when we bring our loved ones to this country. It sucks that even though we try to show them how life is like here they cannot handle it once they arrive. I would say try not to argue with him. You gotta understand that it is also a huge change for him. He changed a lifestyle that he had for all his life. Talk to him, show him that you are aware of the effort he's making to adjust himself to you and his new life. You are the one who's used to the country and it's your job to help him adjust. About the food and living with your parents try to move out asap! Because we all know that living with our parent- in-law is not a fun thing and males hate the fact that somehow they depend on us. If he doesn't like the food your parents make, try to make something different for him, things that he likes to eat. About the job, well its very rare that a person coming from another country finds a job that is on the same level or even higher in this country. America is a country of opportunities, but in order to succeed we need to prove America that we are hard workers and that we're capable of reaching our goals. No ellite position comes from the sky. We gotta work for what we have and wish to have. Again do not argue with him because that makes it worst. Put yourself in his position and say the thing you would want to hear if you were him. Don't give up and fight for your love :)

  14. You should be happy that he did not use you to make his way all the way up here. I guess that's true love. My fiancé always says this "difference make us stronger" So don't pay attention to the differences you have, pay attention to all the things you guys have been able to accomplish. Congratulation on your new home! It seems that he wants to make the best out of the marriage and hey don't you think that he wanted a big house because he wanted a palace for the queen that he has at home???? lol ;)
