I have the same Date of I-751, same date of NOA Date and unbelievably same Biometrics date (early bio) but I'm yet to be approved

probably some racism goin on in VSC

I'm saying so coz same happened to me through my K1 and AOS

K1 took almost two years from start to POE and AOS a

Today I received the card in the mail

Ok so on feb 1 they updated my status on line to card production. On feb 3 they updated it to we mailed our your new card plz allow 30 days, plus I received the approval letter in the mail on the 3. This morning the updated again the website by saying the USPS picked on Feb 3 the mail from Uscis including your new card plz allow 7 days to receive it.

By the way it's very frustrating how slow USCIS has been.

Me and my wife had plans to fly across the global to celebrate the Lunar New Year as I was expecting the ROC to be completed before the time our flight. Finally 3 days prior to the flight we made a difficult decision. I decided to ditch the flight to wait and stay in the States if any kind of updates, information or appointments show up, so I can promptly response to before USCIS goes "ABANDONED" on my sorry butt. Of course my part of the ticket goes down the drain as it was a no-refund ticket.

Even worse a month and half later when my wife returned to the States, still nothing was heard from USCIS, not even a squeek. Great! I wasted almost a grand, a chance to finally meet the in-laws (her family lives outside the States) and a great vacation.

Total BS.

Ok quick update today I received the approval letter. The decision was made on 1/30/2012. So I'm waiting on the card now.

Ok so here we go, all day today I didn't check the status of my case online. So few minutes ago I decided to do and what I see is. On February 1, 2012 we ordered production of your new card please allow 30 days for your card if we need anything from you will contact you if you move before receiving the card plz call us at 1800....... Am I approved?

Congrats on your approval! My status hasn't been updated on the USCIS website either. I haven't bothered calling or anything though. I figure the card will get here when it gets here.

How odd that your letter was from your local office. Mine was postmarked in Vermont.

The letter extends your status for 1 year past the date of expiry on your card, rather than one year past the date on the letter. So as long as you return to the U.S. prior to one year from your card's expiry date, you should be fine. I'd recommend making sure someone is keeping an eye on your mail though, in case you get an RFE or called for an interview or something while you're away. Have a good trip!

So quick update today my lawyer sent out the RFE package today. I'm praying to hear good news soon.

We got an RFE for more evidence of our relationship. I'm a bit surprised we did honestly considering I sent them pretty much everything they are now requesting previously.

We don't have kids so I cant send birth certificates and we don't own a house or have any debt that I can show mutual loans. So I guess I just resend them everything I sent before. *shrug*

Anyone else get an RFE like this? I honestly don't know what else to send them that they don't already have except a bank account with a years more savings.

Ok I got RFE last week were sending everything the end of this week. We don't have kids. Were sending lease document for our house( rent) were sending all kind of utilities bills) bank statement, income tax for the past 3 years, affidavits, and they asked for my W2. So basically everything that I already sent but all updated ones.

First of, I guess my situation prior to filing made things complicated. We moved in different state, and we had several addresses while we were relocating. Since, I thought that sending proof of our current residence, insurances, bank statement, recent letters from our friends and family, some pictures and proof for being beneficiary are enough to satisfy them that we are living in good faith, unfortunately its not, so they sent RFE.

I did sent a lot of proof, updates of same proofs I originally sent and anything that would prove that we're are living in good faith. Also, in cover letter, I explained why we had several addresses, why the mortgage of our new house is just under my name and other circumstances that might give them confusion, so basically I explained it in the letter and back up my explanation with proof. I labeled every proof I had, so it would be easier for them to review. Also, I included copy of our tax return (I didn't include it when I sent the application).

Good Luck!... Maybe after you send your response for RFE, if everything goes well, you will get approve in about 5 weeks or so.

Okay.... just an update.... after my RFE.... got message yesterday (01/13/2012)... they were ordering my new card for production. I guess it means I am approved.

Didn't realize until today (while my wife was traveling through airports) that her Driver's License expired because her PR Card expired. Has anyone run into this before? Will the letter we received cover a driver's license renewal? I would call them but they're closed through the weekend. Just curious what experience everyone else has had with this. Wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the long delay in getting a ROC processed. What do u mean it's expired because her green card expired? As long as she has a valid SS she can go and renew her license it has nothin to do with green card

Baby girl: it shouldn't affect anything because u are considered a green card holders till they denie u. So u shouldn't have any problem. Especially with ur credit cards and driver license.

When I called to check on my status today, they said they are still processing April 4th cases and to call back in 30-60 days. She also mentioned they received a lot of i-751 applications and they are going beyond their 6 month processing time (we already all know that!). The travel paper doesn't bother me, but this "pending" status has not only made an impact on my schooling, but also my driver's license, credit cards, etc. so annoying!

Dave_n_geanna: RFE isn't a big problem it's just the thought that u have to get papers together and waste time to get ur card. I've read that most people who got RFE including whatever me personaly i got is just basic stuff that they already submitted but just an updated ones. Once they receive it I don't think after that, it will take longer for the card to arrive (pray to God)

See, my biggest fear right now is an RFE that got lost in the mail or something. Since the website never seems to update your status after receiving the package, and the phone calls seem to be a stock answer, there is no way to feel secure.

Starting to wear pretty thin. Thinking about bringing a lawyer into it.

Yea I did send them everything they asked for but they want an update ones. But like I said they asked for an update on my house lease, when I sent them the tax return for 2009 I didnt send my W2 so they asked for it, they asked for utilities bills and my bank statement for 2012 (update one ) I got everything ready and I did 4 affidavit from neighbors and friends and next week I'm sending it

Ok so on Monday my lawyer called me and told me that she received a RFE for me but me personally I didn't receive it in the mail and the case online still saying Initial review. So she emailed me a copy it's very basic all what they need from us is an update of bank statement W2 taxes and utilities. So nothing really bad.

I feel your fustrations all,,,,i do know that as long as you have not received a RFE there is nothing to worry about.I know how badly you want to hold that card in your hands,but as long as you have your loved ones,the wait will not be as painful .You will all be approved soon.

but what's confusing me is that they're not working based on the date they received the applications cause some approvals for each month its not like they're going by dates or receipts number....

I also called the USCIS and got the same answer as everyone else. Guy said it was slow going there and that they were on May 17th at the moment. He told me to give it another month before calling back.

He did re-assure me that nothing was wrong with our case. I was starting to get worried that the biometrics had never arrived, or that we had missed an RFE.

how funny everybody called USCIS today, i did call them today too (yesterday my lawyer did and tody i did) and i got the same answer, they transferred me to an officer she was very nice, she told me that theyre working on May 16th still and theres no need to be worry about anything and that somebody should be working on my case anytime now... plus she said if i dont hear anything to call back after 30 days.

My lawyer spoke to USCIS today, because it's been 7 months since they received it,and they have posted that 6 months is the processing time, so they told her the 6 months isn't an accurate time because CSC are backed up with all kind of files, so in other words they told her we have to wait nothing looks bad in my case so i guess we have to wait

Well, shes going to call them today for a service request... i dont know why its taking that long for CSC but i guess we have no other option but to be patient and wait from what i was reading theres a lot of people from june are still waiting too so i hope very soon will get our cards

Congratulations hope we have more apprivals before New Year

there is no correlation between biometric dates unless they were all done at the same local office on the same day. approval depends on the speed at which the adjudicating officer works, the completeness of the application, and the alignment of the stars.

yea i know there's no correlation but it just make me feel better cause everybody who did biometrics on July 11, 2011 didnt get anything yet

That lawyer doesn't really know what he's talking about...

And no, it's not 2 years and 9 months from the day you were granted Permanent Residence. It's 90 days to the 3rd anniversary of your Permanent Residence (if still married to the USC that sponsored you)or otherwise 90 days to your 5th anniversary.
