  1. Hi guys,

I came to the US two years ago, have gotten married to my then fiancée, settled in, found a job and for a moment it was all that I needed. My husband and I are happy but I really miss the company and being with friends, having someone to do kikay things, just having fun, talking to someone who I share the same culture with. I would really like to meet some filipina friends who are also married to an American so my husband and I can have some couple time with friends every now and then. My husband and I live in Glen Burnie, MD, so if you just came to the US and live in the same state/area and would like to have some couple friends, shoot me an email :) pampawara lang ng homesickness.

    Thank you.

  2. Hi,

It so happen I came across with this thread :) I am a filipina and I just came here (US) last March, got married last May, and I am also looking to see if there are couples (filipina and husband) around my area that my husband and I could do things with or just be friends with. We live in Dundalk, MD it's just minutes away from Baltimore, MD so I hope we can meet up sometime guys. It gets lonely sometimes without friends you can hang out with and we Filipino seems to be so used having friends and family around us so I think meeting people and meeting friends in this (new)place will help us from not getting homesick...I am 32 and my husband is 33 yrs old BTW...

    thanks...

  3. have you tried here... https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

the DS-156 needs filling out online because it need the barcode

This is what I have and I got it from a different link found at the bottom of the webpage where the error was. So if this is the right and updated DS-156 form then I don't have a problem anymore. I was just worried cause after I've filled it out, and printed it, down at the bottom of the page it says DS-156 5-2008 so I was thinking it might have not been the right one. But thank you for sending me this link, it means to say I have indeed the right form filled-out and printed. Thank you! :)

Will just be waiting for my interview then... :D

  4. try this?

instead of attempting to fill it out in a web browser -

right click 'that link', select 'save as' or 'download', then

save to your hard disk without any other program attempting to open it (such as acrobat inside a browser)

    then

lauch winders explorer (windows key + E)

    then find that file..

then left click the file name.

then - let us know if you still have issues?

:( It still wont work. when I try to follow this instructions I dont have the option to "save as" or "download" it rather I only have "save link as" and when I continue it will only save the HTML document...

  5. Hello everyone. I'm a newbie here in VJ but I really need help regarding DS-156 for my K1 visa. I am trying to fill out a form online but it is giving me an error that says like this:

Your Internet browser must support 128-bit encryption.

If you are using Internet Explorer (Windows), the minimum version that will work with this site is version 5.0, with service pack 2.

If you are using Netscape, the minimum version that will work with this site is version 6.2.

You must also have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or higher installed on your PC in order to download and print the completed application form. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or higher, you may download a copy from Adobe's web site.

You should use either an ink-jet or laser printer to print the completed application form.

I hve an updated adobe acrobat reader, my browser supports 128-bit encryption, so practically I did everything I could think of, and even tried using firefox and chrome aside for the IE but it still gave me the same error. In the same page where this error is there is a link at the bottom that says DS-156 and so I clicked it and I was able to continue filling out the form and printed it. However my problem is it says it is DS-156 2008, so I am thinking it might not be the right form, or it might be obsolete. Is there anybody else who could help me with this?

    Thanks!
