We did the visa application on our own and successfully obtained the visa.

We are now being told that the AOS is much trickier and even attorneys will hire immigration attorneys to do their AOS applications for them.

Would appreciate hearing from people who have actually been through the AOS process. Thank you!

The Marriage Bureau mistakenly recorded the year of our wedding as 2005, rather than 2006.

They said they would correct that with the Recorder's office but they did not. Our certified copies arrived with the incorrect year recorded.

We are wondering whether we should proceed with filing the AOS, using the incorrectly dated marriage license or rather should wait until we manage to get that adjusted on the official record.

I called my health plan provider, to inquire about getting her on a health plan, and was told that she would need either a SSN or an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Number).

Any information as to how and when a SSN could be obtained or whether it's advisable to first obtain an ITIN would be most appreciated.
