  1. I just got off the phoe with another lever 2 officer and found out that they found an erorr on my card during quality control so they card has been destroyed re-produced. I will hear from them if they need another set of biometrics from me (which I though they keep on their computers and I've attached two pictures with my application). Hopefully they will be done by middle of next week. still need to leave the coutry with just a stamp which makes me nervous

  2. Thanks asdfg, I did that, my petition has been approved, I got the welcome letter and I-797 approval notice for I-130 in the mail, I also got the text/email that my card was mailed out to me and should receive it in 30 days. never received a text that it was picked up by USPS so that's why I called USCIS, spoke to couple of level 2 officers and they all said there is no tracking available that's why I'm worried, I now it has only been 8 days since they claim my card was mailed out but if it was send out it would have already gotten here, so it must be stuck somehere in the office or be still in production despite of what the last status update says. Last officer was kind enough to open a servise request for me to check where my card is, but we'll see if that helps.

  3. Maybe you're right Gegel, maybe I'm exaggerating, just going by how quickly other people get their cards after receiveing "card mailed" notification, in most cases it takes 2-3 days so it is a little worrisome esspecially that I'm going out of coutry this Sunday and will have to travel using the I-551 stamp that I received during our interview, (which I hope will be OK) Hopefully you are right and I will get the actual card soon.

  4. We have had our AOS interview on 8/09/2012, and were approved on the spot. Received approval for I-130 and my Welcome letter on 8/14/2012. Thought that I was finally done and the worst is behind me. On the welcome letter I've noticed that even though we have been married for 11 years we are being given conditional GC and will have to do the ROC process in two years. I decided to call USCIS to find out why and that there must have been some kind of mistake but was informed by a very rude Level 2 officer that it doesn't matter how long I have been married, it's an individual matter and it is up to discretion of the interviewing officer to decide. I was told to wait for my actual card in the mail to see which one they decided to give me. I regret ever making that call because for some reason I feel it may have something to do with the issue I'm going through now.

I've received text/mail the same day that my card is in production. On 8/15 received a text stating that my card was mailed out and I should receive it in 30 days. I have never received a text that it was picked up by USPS, so after a week of waiting I called USCIS to get a tracking number. Unfortunately I have been informed that there was no tracking number available, which means that the card has either been sent without tracking number assigned (which is rare because USCIS started secure mail initiative last year)or that my card was never mailed despite of what the last update on my case says.

After 5 phone calls to USCIS and basically hearing to wait 30 days to see if the card is being returned back to them I had finally got a level 2 officer who started a service request for me, by sending a message to the officer who processed my case, He is suppose to contact Corbin, KY where my card was produced to find out what the status is. Off course this will take up to 2 weeks and no results are guaranteed, I may still hear that their records indicate that the card was sent out on 8/15 and because there is no tracking number available and the card is not returned back to them, they assume they processed it correctly and my only option is to file I-90 to replace it, pay another $450 and basically go through the same process again.

I don't know what to do anymore, and i'm so tired of waiting and dealing with this issue.

Just as a thought that this process my be finally over I now have to go through this whole nightmare, seems like there is no light at the end of this tunnel for me :(

  5. Well that was fast. I got my green card in the mail today. So from interview to delivery was only 8 days.

Congrats, you are very lucky, I've been waiting to get my card since 8/15 but it looks like it was either lost or never mailed, have been calling USCIS everyday and finally today level 2 agent opened up a service request to check what is going on but they have 2 weeks to respond to that, so it looks like I'm traveling with just my I-551 stamp this Sunday and hoping that I will not have to file I-90 and pay another $450 to replace the card after I come back :( What a nightmare...

  6. Did your EAD card come via priority mail just like your GC or 1st class mail? it's been a week since I got the "we mailed your card" text without getting "picked up by USPS" text and I'am trying to get the tracking number but it was not assigned. They can't even tell me if it was picked up by USPS or if it still laying in the USCIS office somewhere, just being told to wait 30 days for delivery. :crying:

Although I received the "USPS has picked up your card" message for the GC, I never received one for the EAD; both arrived the same day.

  7. I got a text/email that my Gren Card was mailed out on 8/15 but never received a follow up text that it was picked up by USPS, called USCIS today and found out that there is no tracking number assigned to my card so they can't check on it for me :( I just hope it is not lost in the mail and it will get here by Friday since I'm leaving the country on Sunday. I have my passport stamped with the I-551 but still would feel so much better to have the actual card in hand before I leave.

  8. Welcome to America letter received in the mail :) (hard copy of the I-485 approval) but the letter says that I will receive a 2 year green card intsead of the 10 year one. Anyone knows why if I have been married for 11 years? isn't the two year card for couples who have been married for less then two years? so confused right now

  10. congratulations on your approval!

The IO seems to have issues... he might enjoyed doing that for his own benefit... but the law is the law and you have rights that he even though he is an IO can't fight....

  best of luck on your new journey as a LPR and have a great trip with your fam.... :D

Thank you, I felt so beaten down after this interview that all of yours kind words made me feel so much better and finally make me realize the process is almost over for me, just want to get the actual card in the mail and I can finally breathe

  11. hi everyone, we had our interview today in the LI office and I got to say it was a very bad expierience, I feel so put down by the IO (who was a grumpy old man) and his rude comments about me overstaing my visa that even though he had stamped my passport with the I-551 stamp at the end I do not feel like celebrating at all.

We have been married for 11 years and have two kids so all he wanted from us were our wedding pictures, recent utility bill, I also had our car and home insuranse policy and letter from my husband's health insuranse stating that we were all covered under the same policy.

he went through the yest/no questions from i-485 and he asked if we used public assistnace (I guess medicaid?) when my kids were being born- to which I've replied "no" because we've always had health insuranse through my husban's job.

He was very cold through out the entire time and when my husband asked him if he wanted to see pictures of our kids he replied "no I've already seen their birth certificates" so my husband replied "but you didin't see how cute they are" and that make his shortly relax and take a quick look at the pics of our family.

Then he said OK you are done, you should get your card in the mail in about two weeks and that's when the problems started because I assumed that he approved us and asked him if he can stamp my passport since we are traveling in exactly 2 weeks and I don't want to be worried that the card may not come in time. he was visible irritated by my request and said "who told you about the stamp?" I never do that!!! I have to look at your file again, check all the info on the computer and decide if I will approve you!

to make a long story short he then asked me if I can show him my tickets (to which I've replied that I can show him email confirming that I bought them) and asked me why we can't go in a month insted of two weeks- my reply was that the kids are starting school and we want to travel while they still have their summer vacation.

he then finally said: well if you really want to I will do what I never do and stamp your passport for you, again looking at my expired visa and making a remark how "we" immingrants can not be trusted. When I thank him and wished him a nice day he didn't even reply.

Now, can somebody tell me how long does it take to have my status updated online to approved (I'm so scared he may changed his mind and not approve us, I hope I am just being paranoid after this whole interview and it is not possible since I already have my stamp in the passport)

  12. Congrats, can you tell me who's birth certificate did they need: only your husband's or yours as well? My husband (who sponsors me) is a naturalized US citizen so will he still need to bring his Foreign birth certificate in addition to his US passport and citizenship certificate to the interview?

Thank you!! Congrats to you too!!!

Our interview went pretty well, but we were requested for original of documents that we dumbly forgot to take with us (birth certificate and I94), and we submitted directly to the officer but she was going on 2 weeks vacations the next day, she had advised us that once she get back she would check on the originals and make a decision.

The decision came actually fast, considering the situation!

Is it normal for the I-130 have no updates at all, just the I-485???

How long should it take until my husband actually receive the card?

  13. I've received a second text/email on EAD card production ordered, why do they sent two? and when should I finally expect to have the card in the mail?
