  1. i think us embassy in nigeria is a bit slower with immigrant visa pickup. my fiancee had repeatedly gone to the embassy to pick up her visa but was not ready for up to 2weeks now. she was finally told she would contacted through sms to come pick up the visa.

  2. Nikky, You will need more than one document. regardless of the visa, lots of documents are needed as to front-loading to give them enough information. E.g: chat log, phone records, emails, travelling tickets, and any other documents to prove to them that you guys are still have an on-going relationship. Trust people will give you alot of advice on this site and you will certainly be fine. Good luck.

  3. Nigeria embassy will notify you when its time to start the processing. For the interview, you will chose a date by yourself online. Below is an example of email you will get from Nigeria embassy when you are about to start the processing:

    Dear Mr/Mrs .................

The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos is ready to begin final processing of your approved K1 visa petition. Kindly request your fiancé/fiancée (the applicant) to visit any branch of Guaranty Trust Bank PLC in Nigeria to pay the K1 visa processing fee of $240.

With the payment receipt number, the applicant can visit our website athttp://www.ustraveldocs.com to schedule a K1 visa interview appointment under the Immigrant Visa (IV) category. The applicant must print the interview appointment confirmation, which should be presented upon arrival at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos on the appointment/interview date.

Also, the attached interview instruction packet has to be printed and the immigration Form DS-156 fully completed by the applicant prior to the interview. Additionally, the applicant should visit any of the medical facilities indicated on page three of the attached medical examination instructions and complete the medical examination.

Please note that NO APPLICANT WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE CONSULATE VISA HALL WITHOUT A VALID MEDICAL EXAMINATION REPORT AND A DULY COMPLETED FORM DS-156 NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION FORM.

  4. I need advice from my fellow VJ members. The Nigeria embassy had emailed me to startt my processing. Should I schedule my interview before getting my medical and police report or get those documents before scheduling interview? How long does this medical and police reports takes before they become ready?? how long does it takes the medical examination and police report to expire? Must you schedule interview immediately you paid at GTBank or you can hold on to the receipt and schedule anytime you want?

Please i will be happy if anyone can put me through this questions.

  5. My application has been approved and sent to Nigeria. Please, guys who had passed through this processing. What are the items are needed to get ready.
