POE - Washington DC, just took 10 mins, no questions asked. They check the yellow packet and do fingerprinting, officer told me Green Card will arrive in 3 weeks.

Mean while officers stamp on the passport and visa will be my green card, If you want to go out of country before you get card.

I read that in the PDF interview letter. When I called to Medical people in Chennai, and I told him, do I have to take the print of NVC Interview Letter ( PDF )? They said, they need original one's photocopy. Could be they dont know what they are doing.

I will be emailing Embassy, Mumbai and checking the same.

Logically it doesnt make sense to send the physical copy.

Take the print out and tell them this is the original, don't know which century they are in..:-)

I am going to email US Embassy, Mumbai to get an expected time for package 4 arrival. Will update here whatever they response.

Called NVC, she said just take the print out of the attachment and take it to interview.

I'm guessing the original Mumbai cases were assigned a lot quicker than the Chennai transfers!

So my case was completed on Oct 26th. Originally my husband had Chennai Consulate but our case was transferred to the Mumbai Consulate and we are still waiting for an interview date.

Please post your case completed date and if you get a February interview date at Mumbai here, so those of us that are waiting can get an idea. I am really hoping to get a February date...

I think they might have done some December cases also in January. Based on the below list, they have given appointment to BMB2011835*** cases. That means Dec 1 st, 2011 cases.

Mine is Dec 13 Case close date. Hoping to get Feb appointment.

How does NVC allocate interview dates? Does it depend on Embassy? Some guys on this forum are waiting since Oct, 2011.

Our case was completed on Nov. 10, 2011 at the NVC and we are waiting for an interview date at Mumbai.

Does anyone have any idea why the Mumbai consulate has only scheduled interviews through Jan 17th so far? Do they not interview at all in the 2nd half of the month or is there still a chance we can get a later Jan interview date? If so, will they release the schedule for 2nd half of Jan in the 2nd week of Jan? Anyone have any ideas?

My CC was on Nov 15th,2011. It seems Consulate does not arrange interviews on all business days.

Swapdude CC is Oct 26th, 2011. Hoping to get Feb appointment..

They still haven't yet updated the list for Jan 18th to Jan 29th.

It means they dont conduct immigrant visa interviews on all business days.

I think they covered everybody till Oct 20th, 2011(CC date) in January.

No bags, briefcases allowed inside the consulate.Just take a big plastic carry bag to put everything into.

Called them today. They finished Jan scheduling at Mumbai and I am not in. So all you ppl, if you have not received an email from NVC then it's not happening in Jan.

Just trying to find till what date in October Case Complete they assigned appointments..

My wife had all copies of all the paperwork we had submitted. You never know what you may or may not need. I suggest your husband send those copies to you before your interview.

From your timeline, I have a question, how did you receive interview date two months in advance?

Yes! Honestly there is still positive hope for Jan, as NVC is still in process to schedule more interviews!

I admire your optimism....

One good thing to know, their Jan interview list is for 13 pages ( appox 650 interviews ) in 17 days.

Their Dec list was 13 pages

Nov list was 7 pages

Seems like they are making progress to increase the slot size for Mumbai Consulate.

They have arranged interviews only for 10 days in Jan.
