  2. hi everyone

having just got back from our honeymoon, we are starting out AOS pack.

we are using my wifes mum as a co sponsor because my wife has no income in the usa because she has been traveling and working abroad.

My mother in law more than meets the requirements but has only been working in her job for 8i months since she graduated from her masters, so all of her tax records for the last 3 years will show low income because she was a student.

do we still send the tax records even though they do not meet the requirement?

    Thank you somuch

  3. Hello again everyone and thank you for your continuing help and support

My k1 interview instructions say i need a police certifcate from all countries iv lived in for 1 year.

i went to Australia for 7 months then left to Thailand for 1 month then returned to Australia for another 4 months,

  4. Hi everyone

I have just recieved my K1 visa instructions and i just have a couple of questions.

I am from the UK but iv been here in New Zealand on a work visa for over a year and still have 8 months left on my visa,

In the package it has asked me to confirm i have legal long term resident status in New Zealand and forward them a copy of my visa

Is my visa ok or will they want to transfer me to the london consulate?

Thank you for taking the time to read my question

  5. Hi All

I served in the British Royal Marines for 6 years, but im applying from and having my interview in New Zealand

I have just discovered that i need military service records, is this just the documents i was given when i was discharged or is this something i have to apply for??

Our petition has been approved so our interview will not be far away and im a little worried about how to get these forms and how long it will take.

Has anyone else served in the uk military and gone through this process?

    Regards

    Jake

  6. Hi everyone

I keep reading conflicting info on how many police certificates i require,

Do i need one for every country i have lived in for more than 6 months or more than 12 months?

Also can anyone give me advice on new zealand police certificate,

I'm having my interview in Auckland im in new zealand on a 2 year work visa but they dont issue police checks to individuals.

  7. Hi Everyone,

Our petition has been approved :) my finances awaiting his interview in New Zealand.

I have been traveling and working abroad for the last 3 years so I have no us Income (currently seeking employment). My mum wants to be co sponsor and she makes $80k per year well above poverty line,

The problem is she only finished university a few months ago and so has only been doing her job for a few months with no tax slips from previous years as a student. Can we still use her or should we ask someone else?

    Thank you

  8. Hi Guys

im from the UK and my fiance is fron USA and we met in Australia while both on working holiday visa's. we wanted to stay together while apllying for the k1 visa so we moved to new zealand again both of us on a working holiday visa, from new zealand we have submitted our petition (recieved by USCIS November 9th)and we are awaiting further instruction.

The problem is it has taken us longer than expected to get to this stage and her visa ends February 16th (i can extend)

Chanel will go back to the states, I can get a 12month working holiday visa in Canada where i will be much closer to her and she can visit me often while we are waiting, but this means changing address and consulate to Canada.

Would this be ok to do? can we change consulates to usa for her and canada for me?

The though of us being on opposite sides of the world is unbearable as im sure most people on this site can relate to.

Any advice would be really helpfull thank you so much.

  9. Hi and thank you for reading

So me (from UK) and my fiance Chanel (from USA) are filling in the questions we are currently in New Zealand on a working holiday visa we are applying from here so we can stay together during the process. we really find the paper work a bit scary as we know that filling something in wrong can result in long delays.

the question of : applicants residence in the last 5 years

we have both been traveling around Australia and new zealand for nearly 2 years and have had several appartments for a few months at a time should we include these addresses? or do they only want permanent addresses from UK and USA?

Our other problem is Chanel lived with her mum in America before traveling and now her mum has sold the house and moved so technically she has no registered address in the States can she put her mums new addres even though she has never been there or her old address even though she does not live there any more?

Any help would be amazing and really appreciated

    thank you

    Jake

  12. Hello everyone!

Firstly my fiance is from the US and i'm from the UK we met in Sydney both of us on a working holiday visa! She was a student before leaving the states so we have to use a sponsor her grandmother is lovely and she wants to sponsor us, she does meet the 125% from her pension but she is 80 years old will this be a problem?? she is our only option!

Also should we hire a lawyer we want to make sure everything is done rite and willing to pay if needed, but i'm not sure if we need to spend all that money does a lawyer help that much is it worth it?

Thank you all so much for reading any advice or your experience's would be appreciated.

    Jake
