  1. Dear Cholito,

Sorry...don't have skype yet! I will read every thing you have described. I recieved packet 4 that said all documents and payments were recieved by NVC and they (docs) were forwarded to the embassy. I sent the "complete" package with originals and I've already paid the fees. I think that's it.

    Thanks a lot,

    Magnus

I think your case is different than mine because I DID NOT send anything to the embassy before our interview...

  2. HEY, Do you have skype?

Please read my review for the interview underneath. As far as what you need to bring... did you recieve a packet in the mail?

    Estimado Cholito,

    Again...CONGRATS!!!

And yes...we would like to know what questions were asked? All of our original paper work was sent to NVC (complete) and forwarded to the embassy. I told my wife she only needs to take her passport and embassy letter. Am I wrong in this? We are IR1/CR1 como tu.....so we are not required to submit the proofs of a relationship other than the documents supplied to the NVC?

Any ingo would be helpful! Wifey goes for medical exam friday. Embassy interview is a little more then a month off.

    Thanks and felicitaciones....

    Sincerely,

    Magnus

  3. Congratulations! May God bless you both! :)

Would you please share your interview review?

    INTERVIEW REVIEW:

1.Get there early. The earlier you get there the faster they take you in.

2.We got called to a window and they gave us a paper that had the fees. A total of $404.00

    2. We had a starter interview with a woman at one of the windows where you stand. She was the one who asked the most questions. for example... Where did you guys meet? When did the relationship start? Asked to me " why do you want to return to your country (USA)"? To my wife: Have you lived outside of Peru for over one year? When did you get married?

    3. Then we sat down and she stayed with my wives passport and file.

    4. 25 min later we were called into window "15" which is a room with 2 seats and and american man behind glass. Let me say that this man was a GREAT guy who was respectful and totally CHILL. He started in spanish with my wife swearing that she would tell the truth. Then asked if she would sign a form and if she spoke English. My wife does speak English so we continued in English. Honestly we talked about his job and that it was obvious who is telling the truth about the relationship and who isnt. I said to him " we have more evidence here" and he goes " i dont need to see that, there are cases that are clearly real others that aren't, you have nothing to worry about." He asked when we had got married. He was making jokes and totally chill. The one thing that we did not have was a Co-Sponser. I do not make enough money to support my wife because i have been earning in Soles here in peru for over 2 years as an English teacher. So my dad has to send his tax info and the I-864 form. We send this with my wives passport and they send us the Visa.

Note: SHOW AFFECTION. look at each other even kiss each other or hold hands. Show that you aren't nervous and really in love.

    Any more questions please ask!

  5. The Embassy will want to make sure you two can communicate so if the USC does not speak Spanish, they will ask some questions to the foreigner in English to test her language skills.

I received my K-1 visa in Peru 10 years ago. I went to the interview by myself. The consul was talking to me in Spanish and then switched to English without warning. He asked questions in English and I answered them in the same language. I had previously stated that my fiance did not speak Spanish so I think it was his way of verifying that we could indeed communicate.

    THANKS!

  6. Most likely you will be asked to enter into the small room, so you can both speak with the consul. The order is irrelevant, maybe some questions will be asked to you and some to her, but there's no such thing as an specific order. The time I was there, some couples were too, and they just have more like a conversation, rather than a predefined list of questions

    Best wishes

Thank you so much for your help. When we are approved I will stay on this site and help people like you are helping us. :)

  7. Hello,

My wife and I have our interview in one week at the Lima Embassy for the CR1 visa. We have our paperwork ready and are excited. I have read a lot on this page and on other pages but i was wondering if there are any little things that we weren't told or that maybe could help us out. PLEASE ANY EXTRA INFORMATION that you think we could benefit from I am all ears. Thanks so much.

  8. This site says you need a transit visa, yes, but I read elsewhere that US citizens (and presumably LPRs) are exempt, so it would probably only be necessary for your wife. In any case, I think it's one of those pay-small-fee-at-the-airport thing, not something you have to apply for ahead of time. And usually you only need one if your layover is longer than some time.

Call the airline; they usually have up-to-date info on those things.

Thanks! I really appreciate the help!

  9. Have you already read through this: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Peru&cty=&dfilter=5

    and this: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Peru&cty=Lima

    ?

Those would be the best places to start. Be sure all your paperwork is in order, you have lots of evidence of the bona fides of your relationship, you attend the interview with her, and you should be started on the right foot.

If you have any more specific questions, I think it would be easier to address your post in more detail.

What a great help thanks so much!

  10. Had our interview yesterday, everything went very well, the officer indicated she would recommend me for approval....now to await to oath notification !!

Hey, I have my interview for my wife on the 13th of december... could you please tell us more or less some of the questions they ask you??? CONGRATS
