The NVC received our final paperwork on July 2, our case was closed on July 9 and today, July 12 we received the email on my wife and step son's Embassy interview for Moldova on August 17.
As my stepson is going into 4th grade, I was hoping for an interview sooner. WE would like him to have a few weeks to adjust to the USA before starting school. I have emailed the Embassy, asking for a quicker date.
What are the odds of getting the date moved up ?
Thanks

I sponsored my wife on a visitor visa before we married, knowing I would want her to visit afterwards..she got a 10 multiple entry visa. Once we were married and started the CR-1, she has visited 4 times. Coming in through JFK was never a problem, just asked who she was visiting. Flying into newark she got questioned both times, but they let her in.
The hard part will be getting the vistor's visa through, not visiting after

I got married on December 28, 2011, applied for CR1 on Jan 3, 2012. Received NOA1 on Jan 10 and just received NOA2 on March 20...
seems very quick from what I have read....are things moving very fast these days or did this forum give me such great instructions that USCIS gave us priority treatment ?
Thanks to the forum so far

We defiantly want to have same last name. The challenge is not giving up her current passport until definitely needed.
It seems she could wait until just before her interview but we should apply in her married name

I am getting married overseas in December and plan to file for a CR-1 right after. As I understand my wife will need to get her name changed (using my last name) in her passport to apply for her CR-1. The challenge is she has a visitor visa and plans to visit during the wait and if her name changes, she loses the old passport and it is doubtful she would get another vistor visa after we apply for the CR-1.
Is it possible to apply for the CR-1 in the new name, and she changes her passport just before her embassy interview to her new name ? Or do I need a copy of the new passort to apply for the CR-1?
Thanks in advance for your advice

I took a chance and wrote the embassy directly, explaining our situation.
It took 5 days, but they wrote back with good news.
They moved our interview date up by two weeks to August 3. YEAH !
