Hi guys. We are withing 13 days of traveling to Ciudad Juarez for the visa interview. We are kinda worried about how safe it is to cross the border. We are taking a flight into El Paso and plan to take a taxi cab across the border into our hotel. Does anyone know from experience if this is possible? I have heard some people say thehave to cross over by foot and take another taxi inside Mexico. We really would prefer not to do that. Any help will be appreciateed.

What i have heard is that you can TRY to see which ones theyll wanna give her and get them and take your records to the medical examination that day but they might not validate them. I got some before and i am taking that proof but they can say we dont accept it heres another 3 shots. ugh. i hope not cuz they hurt!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going to fly to El Paso and take a Taxi from there to our hotel in Ciudad Juarez. Does anyoe know if you can take the taxi straight from El Paso airport into Ciudad Juarez to a hotel DIRECTLY? Without changing cabs at the border? thanks

If your case closed April 24th im sure youll get an interview date at around thw 11th of march the latest!
-
check out my signature! I received it the second week of the month.
-
The interview was assigned to me, i didnt get to choose it, appointments are given every second week of every month. So if your case closes soon you will probably get your appointment letter in the middle of may for an appointment in June. Best wishes!

I suggest you do not withdraw your I-130. They will ask you to leave the country because you came in illegally, but they might be able to leave you here since you have a previous approved petition from your dad. I am not a lawyer but it is from personal knowledge. I wouldnt pull the petition until you hire a lawyer to help you because if you DO leave you are gonna need a waiver and you definately want a lawyer for that. More than one petition wont hurt you. Dont do anything without consulting an attorney

My case was closed at NVC on March 14th. I am still waiting on my interview date at ciudad Juarez. How long does it take???!!!!
-
Call the NVC and ask but they assign interviews every second week of everymonth. I am also waiting for mine. My case closed March 14th. The lady said we should hear something by April 15th

It makes a week today! Wow getting real nervous now...
-
I was wondering how many days after your cases were closed at the NVC did you received your interview appointment in your country? My interview will be at Ciudad Juarez and my case was closed on 3/14/12 and i just wanna see if anyone has a ballpark of how much longer I have to wait. Thanks everyone!!!

The consulate schedules your interview appointment. You have to call to schedule your waiver appointment if u need one i believe. Kudos!

CHICAT76:

Took me 13 days TOTAL, counting the weekends

I know!!! Its enough them dragging me almost 7 months to get the I-130 approved! lol Im starting to get real queezy now...
-
OMG I ALMOST CANT BELIEVE IT. The lawyer sent my packet IV on Friday March 9th and it was approved yesterday!!! Holy ####### I dont even have enough money! LOL Hello credit card.
-
Good morning VJers! Well after my almost 7 month wait for my I-130 approval I sm currently at the NVC, since I have a lawyer he sent on March 9th the packet IV (as he called it) Im guessing its the affidavit and the visa form with all the fees paid. Im wondering if anyone has gotten their case closed with NVC lately, what is their processing time? The lawyer said NVC is moving quickly so I am curious. I have to travel abroad for my interview so I really need to leave everything ready before I go. Just looking at time frames.
-
I probably will go for it... eventually. lol No rush.

Ok. Well thank you both but now I'm confused. Is there a chance that the waiver might not even be required? And if it is I should DEFINITELY contact a lawyer right? I shouldn't attempt to process a waiver on my own?
Hi KRYSTAL!
I just HAD to write you to tell you that i am going thru the same thing. I came at 8 yrs of age and will need a waiver for the overstay. It is VERY COMMON so dont feel left out. I hired a lawyer for the whole process and they charged be around $5800 but that was ALL the process from the 1-130. SO you might get a GOOD waiver for $2000. You DEFINATELY will get denied and then the officer will give you a sheet saying you are eligible for a waiver and the instructions. You will have to call to make an appointment to turn in your waiver in Juarez in person. They tell you to wait 6-8 weeks to hear a response. If they need more information it can up to a year's wait. I know it is very stressful but thats why i recommend to get a lawyer so u have less chance of getting stuck because they need additional information. The waiver includes the overstay and also working illegaly. (NOT IDENTITY THEFT which is different)
The fast waiver program that someone mentioned IS old news, they arent doing that anymore.
Message me if u have any other questions.

Congratulations!
My case was revived August 1... Does this mean I'm close to getting NOA2?
Thank you everybody!!!!!!!!
And yes! I believe you are really close! They update processing times every 15th so give USCIS a call then and see where theyre at.

I am wondering and actually questioning the accuracy of the "rough estimates" graphs posted onto this website and I'm started to think they very misleading. How is it possible that we are barely seen approvals on I-130's @ CSC from end of July but the "Processing Times Graphs" for CR1/IR1 I-130's @ CSC states that "I-130's with NOA1 Date of roughly 101 days ago (October 30, 2011) are being processed". ... That is way off! to what is really happening.
I know it says somewhere that those estimates are calculated based on VJ members entries and their personal experiences, but what entries is the site referring to? ... Nobody that I have read so far with a NOA1 date of October has even been looked at. My point is:
"Why bother putting misleading estimates and graphs into this website to make people believe something that is not true?"
I agree with you. I never even looked at those estimates. Sadly they were always 2 months ahead of what it really was
