Hey ANC_007. I got my NVC number (on the phone by constantly calling them) after about 2 weeks from my approval. Although we couldn't do anything with at the time. Two days ago they sent us an e-mail (about 3 weeks after approval) stating that we need to pay the AOS fee and assign an agent which is done now. Just waiting for the next step.

I called my representative and talked to a nice lady in his office who seems to have taken care of it. USCIS is no use at all until you get your NOA2 (then they seem more friendly).

Have you tried calling your congressman? I waited the 5 months with no news from my NOA1. Called my congressman and then 2 days later it was approved. It's worth a shot if you haven't done it yet.
