  1. I am a Canadian Citizen and US Resident(Green Card) working in US. My wife and Daughter are US Citizens. I was wondering how would I go about getting Canadian PR/Citizenship for my wife and daughter? I know I need to sponser them but Can I sponser them while I live and work in US? I want to do this now so we have the option to move to Canada sometime in future and my wife to be able to work right away rather than having to wait to go through sponsership. Thanks.

  2. I would recommend Medisys as well. Easy to contact, cheaper and probably faster.

There are two panel physicians in Montreal: Medisys and Dr Seidens. Unless prices have changed since last April, I went to Medisys, the cheaper of the two. The results were ready about 3 business days later. After I picked mine up, I walked to the consulate to see what it looked like. It was only about a 10 minute walk.

  3. Tercerero,

I can understand what you are going through. It is really tough. But never give up hope and Vent it out whenever you have to. As you can see, there are people in this forum who will help you with information or even emotionally. YOU ARE NOT ALONE LIKE KIMBEAR SAID. I know it's hard but try to stay positive as much as you can. You will get your visa one day. It's matter of waiting and getting through this stupid process. I hope you will get pregnant as well  .

  4. JessicaDiana,

Have you already registered for DHL, you should right away if you haven't. You should call DOS to find out the status of your visa.

    hey everyone

I had my k-1 visa interview at the vancouver consulate January 6 and was approved the same day. They told me DHL would contact me in a few days so i could go to DHL in the richmond branch and pick up my visa. Its been exactly 2 weeks today since being approved, im a little worried I havent been contacted yet. I check my email everyday and my junk mail but nothing. I Got nothing either like a tracking number or anything from the consulate for DHL. what should i do? im a little lost and worried now..

    thanks!

  5. Our AP nightmare began a couple days before Floella's. Can you predict when we'll get ours, FightWithHope?

I sincerely hope Floella's AP is resolved within the next two weeks, but I wouldn't bank on it. Hate to be the downer at the party, but there's no way to say such things!

    Tercerero,

From my experience and knowledge, Montreal consulate/DOS use the term "AP" for almost all the reasons. What I mean by that is if your visa is slow to process, they will safely use that term to make you wait. Although I am not sure what your situation is, As long as you get them the documents they request and there's no fault at your side, no need to worry and it's a matter of waiting. Unless there's a serious concern on their side when they did a background check on you. Normally AP doesn't go more than two months @ montreal. Might be little longer for you due to the holidays. Good Luck and keep us posted.

  6. I am in a similar situation and appreciate your detailed post. My interview was on December 7th and they requested 3 extra documents. I compiled everything and they received it December 28th. I hope the holidays doesn't delay Montreal too much. It's already been a long, grueling 7 months. They asked for my husbands federal income tax returns for the past 3 years, an extra medical assessment for a previous DUI charge in 2007 and police report for Canada. Please pray that everything clears and I am able to return to my husband in San Diego soon!

Thank you for your post again, it really helps!

Lchoi85, I don't think you should worry at all. You will get u r visa but you probably have to wait until end of this month. Try to enjoy your remaining days in canada. Stay positive.

  7. Still waiting :( I was hoping I'd get some new after the new years, but still pending. Ughhhh...

But I am happy for those of you that have finally gotten through.

I have been in AP for over a month now :(

Floella, I understand what you are going through. But I hope this helps. I know someone that was in AP recently and it took 6 weeks. I can almost assure that you will get it within the next two weeks. Stay positive.

  8. Have your fiance go to her local Member of Parliaments Constituency office with her paperwork. All MP's offices have special contacts on the various federal Departments and will be able to arrange with CIC or CBSA for the release/return of her passport. I used to work for an MP when I still lived in Canada and this is the type of work we did all the time - liaising with the various federal departments on behalf of our constituents.

    Good luck

I am also moving this thread to the duplicate thread in the Canada Regional Forum as this is a Canada specific topic.

Kathryn41 & Inky, you guys are great. You seem to know alot and always willing to help others. Thanks.

  9. Yeah, it's so hard to stay positive. My fiance and I are trying to stay positive but it is tough when we thought, "This is it! We get to be together!" and then it didn't happen. I was supposed to be there by today/tomorrow, so it's particularly hard thinking about it.

Have you got your visa yet? I know someone who was put on AP and got their visa month after.

  10. has anyone else had the problem of your family just not getting what's going and why everything is taking so long even though youhave explained it over and over again. My grandparents were asking my dad to eamil my husband to tell him to make up his mind or to just let me go they seem to think he's the one slowing this process down or something and my dad told me last night that he was staying out of it but if he wanted to be an #### he could write the military telling them about my husband i'm think in the back of mind their just gonna laugh at you my husband is in the coast guard with is apart national defense ect i just don't get my family's way of thinking like i don't have enough to deal with we have a son ive been looking after him pretty much bymyself since birth we haven't seen my husband in almost 6 months he also just got back from almost 3 months of being deployed on a ship. it just really frustrates i just wanna do what's best for my own family.

Patience is the key here. Just hang in there. I know how tough it can be raising your son all by your self. But remember it will be all over one day. For having to answer to others, screw them. If possible, try to ignore what they say and stay positive. Remember, once you get your visa, all these questions will mean nothing to you.
