Hi Leizz, just saw your conversation with Apalis. Just curious, since you've already got your SSN, you can still apply for job without the green card right? Because during port of entry, the officer told me green card gonna take 6-10 months to arrive. Oh well. Btw, can I check my green card status on USCIS ELIS website? Thanks! I'm pretty bored at home too, don't have driver license yet, still waiting for my SSN. GOVERNMEBT shutdown sucks.

Hi Leizz, Have you received your SSN yet?
-
Hi, not yet. During port of entry in Seattle airpot, I was told that SSN gonna take 6-10 weeks to arrive to me, but they told me I can go to Social Security Office to get SSN instead, so I can start finding job soon. But now the government has shut down, SSN service isn't available until government opens. That really sucks! I can't do anything without a SSN.

Hi Leizz, I was reading the interview review from another vj member, she mentioned that on her interview, she was asked for an Ongoing Salary Certificate of her husband (sponsor). I wanted to know if you prepared Ongoing Salary Certificate (I guess it's kinda like employment letter) from your husband for the interview? I only have joint sponsor's IRS transcripts and pay subs. Thanks!

Hi Apalis, I found your review very useful, thanks for posting. I want to know if you also brought a bank statement of joint sponsor to the interview? Because I have a joint sponsor too, but I'm not sure if its ok to ask him for one as bank statement is quite personal.

Hi Apalis, congrats on having the visa approved! So you went to the interview with your wife but they didnt interview you as well? Can't wait to hear your wife's interview story. Happy for you guys for the approved visa!

Thanks wbogard . I went in with my wife but I wasn't allowed to stand at the windows while they interviewed my wife. But they at least ask my wife if her husband was sitting over there so I am pretty sure that it definitely helped. I will ask my wife about what they asked her and will type it out soon ha ha .

Hi Leizz, nice to meet you. I will have my interview in SG in Aug. I have a question for you, I hope you don't mind helping me. Did you bring the proof of marriage documents (joint bank statement, chat history, photo pages, etc) that you sent with I-130 before to the interview? Or you only brought the updated documents which have been submitted before to the interview? Because I was thinking NVC probably has forwarded my whole petition package to US embassy, but I'm not sure about tha...

Hi Apalis, I'm having the med exam tomorrow as the embassy person said its ok to use old interview letter for med exam and entering the embassy on interview date if somehow I still don't get the new interview letter. All the best to you and your wife, I totally understand how your wife feels as I'm as nervous as hell as well haha. Good luck and keep me posted with your interview result.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Congrats on the case completion at NVC. I just received a checklist for police certificates from SG and HK. Have you got your COC from SG done yet? I'm currently on vacation in HK and just got the PC done here last week. Hope the COC will go smoothly as well. When did you send out the AOS and IV package? Will keep you posted on my visa progress.

It came with my case number, and I need to pay the AOS fee and hand in DS-3032 form. I emailed the form instead of mailing it.

Hi, my case was just normal immigrant visa for spouse, not expedited. I was lucky to get approved in a month, I know some people were as lucky as me. But I waited 18 working days to get the first email from NVC when some people got the email within 2 weeks. My case number started with MSC. Hope it helps. Good luck!

Anyway, hope the information helps. =) Do you know if NVC has received your I-130 package yet?

HI there,
I saw your conversation with EmilyS. I got my NOA2 on 19 Dec. And I called NVC on 10 Jan, they said they got my I-130 package but didn't tell when. And they said it could take up to 3 more weeks to hear from NVC (like enter my case into the system i guess?)
I was expecting to hear from NVC within 2 week time after I got my NOA2, but I guess I'm having bad luck. Anywa...

I called today, they told me it should take 17 business days (included 2 day holidays). So I will call again on 2 Jan. I saw comment that people suggest calling everyday if you don't hear from NVC after a week waiting. But I think since I got my NOV2 much earlier than I expected, and as long as I get the visa before Nov. I will take my time.

Hi jdba,
I hope I didn't misunderstand it, because I checked online for my case status, it has gone to the step called "Post Decision Activity". And it says, "On December 17, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), ORPHAN.
Is it the Noa2? My case wasn't expedited, just normal one. Thanks...
