    Hi Leizz, Have you received your SSN yet?

      Hi, not yet. During port of entry in Seattle airpot, I was told that SSN gonna take 6-10 weeks to arrive to me, but they told me I can go to Social Security Office to get SSN instead, so I can start finding job soon. But now the government has shut down, SSN service isn't available until government opens. That really sucks! I can't do anything without a SSN.

    Hi Apalis, I was reading the interview review from another vj member, she mentioned that on her interview, she was asked for an Ongoing Salary Certificate of her husband (sponsor). I wanted to know if you prepared Ongoing Salary Certificate (I guess it's kinda like employment letter) from yourself and joint sponsor for the interview? I only have joint sponsor's IRS transcripts and pay subs. Thanks!

      Yes I've already prepared for the bank statements, but he doesn't have much money on those, he put zero as asset on his i-864 form. That's why we have a joint sponsor. Thanks for your good luck wish. Will keep you posted.

I wanted to know if you prepared Ongoing Salary Certificate (I guess it's kinda like employment letter) from yourself and joint sponsor for the interview? I only have joint sponsor's IRS transcripts and pay subs. Thanks!

      We called NVC before about his situation and the officer told us that he doesn't have taxable income. So in his AOS package, he didn't include IRS transcripts but only a letter from school that shows student status. We didn't get RFE, that's why I thought it's ok to go to interview with no tax return transcripts.

      He gets scholarship from school and he get monthly stipend, does it mean no tax return needed? Im kinda confused with scholarship and stipend.

      He is getting scholarship from school, in his AOS package, he attached a status letter written from his grad school to prove that his is a student and getting stipend monthly. And I will also bring a stipend statement to interview to show that he is getting paid from school. As for IRS, I don't think my husband has filed with IRS that he is a student.

      My interview is this Wednesday! I'm quite nervous. Just worried I haven't prepared enough documents. My husband is a PhD student in Singapore so he doesn't have taxable income. I haven't prepared his IRS transcripts as there should be none for last three years, am I right?

    Hi Apalis, I found your review very useful, thanks for posting. I want to know if you also brought a bank statement of joint sponsor to the interview? Because I have a joint sponsor too, but I'm not sure if its ok to ask him for one as bank statement is quite personal.

      Oh I thought it only took 3 working days to receive passport. Did you choose self pickup or delivery to your home? I hope you will get it soon!

      Hi Apalis,

      My joint sponsor is willing to give me his recent bank statement, he is my husband's best friend. But he says it might not show much money on it as he been spending some money lately. His income is more than twice the 125% of HHS Poverty Guidelines for household of 2. Does his bank statement matter (not show much money)?

      And has your wife received the passport back yet? Thanks!

Because I was thinking NVC probably has forwarded my whole petition package to US embassy, but I'm not sure about tha...

      Hi Apalis, I'm having the med exam tomorrow as the embassy person said its ok to use old interview letter for med exam and entering the embassy on interview date if somehow I still don't get the new interview letter. All the best to you and your wife, I totally understand how your wife feels as I'm as nervous as hell as well haha. Good luck and keep me posted with your interview result.

      I was so so worried that I wouldn't have enough time to do med exam because of the new letter not arriving. So when will you have your interview, Apalis? Is your husband/wife (petitioner) going with you?

      Hi Apalis, Yes it sucks so bad, they called me on cell phone last tuesday to inform me that, and I'm still waiting for the new interview letter to be mailed to me. I called embassy again today and they told me they will resend the letter again, and tell me to go ahead and have med exam with the old interview letter. Geez, they should have told me early that I can use the old letter to do med exam and also enter the embassy with the old letter. I was so so worried that I wouldn't have...

Actually last tuesday embassy called me and informed me that my interview has postponed from 29 July to 7 Aug >_< I'm still waiting for them to mail me the new interview letter. It's so stressful to wait for the letter, I still haven't had med exam yet. >_< Thanks again for your help!
