  1. On form I-485, Part 1, the final item requested is labeled "Expires on (mm/dd/yyyy)"

I do not know whether it is asking for the expiration of the visa (referred to in the item immediately before) or the expiration of the I-95 (referred to TWO items back).

Is there any official clarfication of this in the government publications?

The I-485 is a great collection of CYA for the government, but it is sorely lacking when it comes to helping with fillingot the form, item by item.

    Thanks ahead of time.

What they are asking you is when your stay expires. What type of visa did you use to enter the United States?

  2. Hello to you!.. I have a few thoughts on this, my husband also snores lol, but it is not that bad. There are breathe right strips you can find at any local drugstore. AND there are special Mouth Guards/retainers however you wish to call them. What they do is move the jaw to create an open airway space to allow normal breathing, without the snoring. You can also find at a drugstore, or even your local supermarket! Theres also an option of earplugs? hey you never know lol. But one thing you should look out for is if your Hubby stops breathing during his snoring. Snores, stops breathing momentarily, then snores again..that's NOT good! He may have sleep apnea, or other issues that you will definitely need to seek further advice with his Doctor. Also Doctors may prescribe him with a mask, basically he'll look like Darth Vader at night lol but its a breathing mask for those who suffer with this particular condition. Best of luck to you!! Hope this helped a bit! Let us know how things turn out. :)

  3. As stated by both persons that responded, many interviews are not approved on the spot and right after that they receive the card production email. They were explaining the process to you so that sounds good to me. Did you take the bank letter that you received as proof of your joint account?

    [/q

Yeah we took the letter with us. It seems she wanted a bank statement but again she saw about 200 photos of us, we showed her a sworn affidavit from my mother-in-law and some personal correspondence from both us. The approved the green card few mins ago though! :)

  4. Hello VJ folks. My wife and I attended our AOS interview today at the Detroit USICS Office and we were not approved. We provided the officer the following evidences to the interview; our wedding album, an additional album with random photos before and after the wedding, a letter from the bank stating when we opened our bank account together and information about our debit cards, a notarized sworn affidavit from my mother-in-law stating how she met me and confirming that our marriage is legit, and 4 copies of our personal correspondence. She asked us about our bank statements but we opened our bank account 5 days before the interview and we have not received any bank statement yet. She checked the pictures really quick and then asked the both of us the basic questions like how you met? we met online on a Yahoo chat room 2 years ago, how you became a couple? we gave a brief explanation, when you first met in person? on august 6th 2011, Where did you stay after your arrival to the united states? at my wife's place, etc. Then we went through the standard questions of form I-485 which all answers were no and finally she said that we cant get aprroved today because she's got to make some background checks in order to approve our application and that they will inform us via mail about the final decision or whether they need something else from us. However, at the end of the interview she was explaining to me how to remove my conditions before my 2 year green card expires and then we both signed a paper about the conditional green card. The interview lasted about 20 to 30 minutes. We are confused and worried because the officer returned my passport and I-94 with no stamp or highlights at all. Does this mean we would probably have a stokes interview? Or would they ask for further evidence? We would really appreciate your help and advice guys. Thanks in advance.

  5. yes that could cause some significant confusion. You should have sent a box if they didn't all fit. I would assume you'll get an RFE for the missing I-864.

What visa are you AOSing from?

Oh I see...Well the thing is that I dont use the mail service regularly. They just gave me two envelopes and I assumed that it was ok. Im a B1/B2 visitor at the moment. So what you think its going to happen with the I-864 and I-864A?

  6. Hey guys, how is it going? I'm a November filer. I filed my whole package (G-1145, I-130, I-485, and I-765) to the Chicago lockbox on 11/16/11 via USPS Express mail and it was delivered on 11/17/11 at 1:52 pm, signed by R MERCADO. I have not recieved any email/sms notifications so far but i will eventually. My only concern about my applications is the fact that I enclosed them in two separate USPS Express mail flat rate envelopes (I-130, I-485,and I-765 in first envelope and I-864 plus I-864A in second envelope) due to lack of space. Do you guys think that this scenario could cause any delay or confusion when USCIS starts processing my applications? I'm the beneficiary of these applications and its based on marriage.
