  1. Hi All,

im in a bit of a predicament and would like some advise.

we are approaching when we should receive our NOA2 now, however i would like to delay the interview date.

i have a bit more travelling to do before im ready to enter the states on my K1 and want to know if its possible to do what i have planned.

i am planning on going to the states for a couple of months with my fiancée in august, and then returning after Christmas on the K1 visa.

i know its possible to put the interview date back and still enter under the VWP, however i don't know if i could do this for 2-3 months? - i have the funds to support myself and was just planning on telling the customs official that i have an interview booked for example December and plan on coming in for good in January.

do you think it would be possible to extend the interview date until Dec when we should get our NOA2 in June?

and what are my chances on getting into the states with a return flight 2-3 months down the line if i can get a letter from my job, and my parents saying the i pay them rent and they expect me back on the day of my return flight?

    thankyou

  2. Hi Guys,

Me and my Fiancee are filling out our I-129f packet now and have a question regarding the employment section.

We have been backpacking since last year so obviously we would put "unemployed" for that time.

however during that time, we were on a working holiday visa in Australia.

Would we need to declare this as employment, or write it as unemployed? - we will be claiming the tax back at the end of our time here.

If it makes any difference we are still living and working together at one of the jobs.

also, while on this note, would our payslips be good evidence of an ongoing relationship AND meeting in person?

    thankyou

    marc

  3. Hi Everyone, my first post and thank god i found this forum!

Me and my girlfriend met about a year ago while we were backpacking and still currently are. We currently live in Australia on a 12 month visa but have had no solid address for the last 13 months.

We are looking to apply for the K1 visa now, but don't know how hard it will be as we both currently live in a remote town in Australia - we do, however want to get the process started as we don't want to be separated for a great period of time after our visa runs out here.

The questions i have really, are,

will the fact that we are backpacking and therefore not in the US, not earning Money in the US and have lived in countless places over the last year count against us?

Would having her Mother as a co-sponsor help? We should have about $20,000 U$ between us when we leave here in a joint account.

Finally, when I come to do the interview, would I have to fly back and have it in the UK (where i am originally from) or could i have it in Sydney?

Thank you for any advise you can give.

    Marc
