  1. Thank you guys, I guess I have to do what's right. I don't even mind living in Belgium but my husband has his company here, which means we'll have to live seperate.

And it's nobody's fault but mine, I was trying to see if any of you guys had the same experience. I know that every case is different, and do believe in good luck and 2nd chances.

Guess I was lucky at the interview 'cause she could've easily said, you're denied for keeping us this information, so there is still hope.

Worst case scenario I'll just go back to Belgium and keep living, 'cause live goes on!

  2. I spoke to some different lawyers, first thing I need to do is turn myself in and explain that the charge is the wrong name and go from there, there's a big chance they won't make a big deal out of the fact that I used someone else's name (this seems to happen a lot). And because I'll be turning myself in there's a chance they'll overlook that part. (off course it's a MAYBE)

This happened in the State of Tennessee.

Besides this charge I've never got myself in trouble, not here and not in Belgium. It was a stupid mistake and now I'm paying for it, and I also understand that everything happens for a reason.

I just wish that they could give me a 2nd chance.

Why don't they believe in the 2 year Green Card "probation" I can prove in those 2 years that I'm really not a bad person :-(

  3. We've had the interview, everything went fine on our relationshp part, we do truly love each other, and I didn't get married for a Green Card. Iv'e been in the States since 2007 and we got married 2011.

All she asked for was more info on my arrest, and I don't understand why she made me sign the form explaining on reapplying on a GC before expiring.

  4. My Immigration lawyer told me to look for a good criminal lawyer to get this taken care of, and at least try to make this charge as minimal as possible.

    I'm working on it.

I just need to take care of this charge and face the facts. Even if I get denied at least I can try it again in a couple of years, unless it's a lifetime ban :-(

If I don't have enough time, my Immigration lawyer is gonna try to ask for more time to take care of this.

  5. No I haven't signed anything like that, the lady that interviewed us was very calm about it, she didn't seem upset. She even asked my husband if he could step outside before she asked me about this, she wasn't sure if he knew about my past.

All she said was that she needed proof that I didn't get charged for it.

Not too sure how all this is gonna work out, and it sucks, 'cause I really am a changed person. And it sucks that the past always comes back and haunts you.

  6. I entered the US legally on a B2 visa in Nov 2007.

    Got married April 2011

    Applied for AOS September 2011

    EAD approved and received

    Interview Jan 03

I have a pretty complicated case, during my interview the agent asked about my previous arrests, I told her the truth about one case (case got dismissed and thrown out). Not knowing they found out about a previous "prostitution" case in 2009.

When I got arrested I freaked out and used my friends name because I didnt know what my rights were, I was scared of getting deported. I never went back to take care of this situation.

My friend is working on getting this case expunged since it wasn't her.

The agent told me that I needed a certified copy that these charges were dropped, and that I don't have a criminal background on my real name in the city that I got arrested. The deadline is March 03. She did make me sign a form about the explanation that says that I need to renew my Green Card on time once I recieve it.

What are my chances? I do have a lawyer.

  7. Nich Nick you're totally right!!

I went to the DMV office to change my licence after confirming it twice with the hostess and their supervisor that I DIDN'T have to take a test.

After waiting about an hour and half I finally get to the counter and the lady tells me I have to take a test :-( so unprofessional of them!

She confirmed with a supervisor over the phone ( she was off ) that I did need to take a new test.

After confirming all my information she made me do a written test (passed) and today I went back for the practice test (passed as well).

I should receive my Texas Driver's Licence in the mail within 2 weeks. And after my EAD expires I have to go back for a renewal.

  8. " Request for Evidence Response Review" :

" On September 29, 2011, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location."

I haven't heard from them since this last update online.

What's the average wait after they receive a ROE? I've received my EAD card already, now I'm just waiting on a interview date.

    I filed for i485 aug 22.
