  1. Hi all! My name is Jessica, my fiance is Tobi. I'm in Oregon, he's in Germany. We've been together for 3 years. I've been there twice - 4 weeks total, he's been here twice - just under 6 months total.

He proposed this past September when I was there! Yaaay! Now on to the fun part. lol.

I'm not near as overwhelmed as I was before. I've done a lot of research and reading (all over the web, and here). The part I'm struggling with the most is finding the money to actually file. I plan to use my tax return in February. I make enough on paper to sponsor him, but reality is I have a lot on my plate. I am a single mom with 3 kids. I don't receive any help from the government, nor do I receive any monetary support from my ex-husband.

I'm really excited to have found y'all and just a forewarning. I'm the Queen of Questions.

    Thanks!

    -Jes

Feel free to ask me any questions and  Good luck on journey!

  3. We were approved on Wednesday :))) we were very nervous considering all the interviews were taking 30 minutes or more and only about 3 couples passed the first interview but the woman who interviewed us was quite nice. Asked where we met, why were gettng married, when, where I work, and my birthdate. Didn't let me talk but that's okay haha. Then she said "at this moment your visa has bee approved, please come tomorrow to pick up your visa"! We were soooo happy we almost skipped the way home. It wasn't ready Thursday and I'm bak in the us but he's going today and will be here in 3 weeks! God is great. I'm wishing luck to natasha and angel onb their interview today, I know they'll do great!

The vending machines are thieves there btw.

Thank you visajourney, I couldn't have done it without you! We actually brought too much, they told us we were well prepared. :)

Al in all, out of all the people there only about 10 were approved. We were blessed and very thankful.

    Congrats!

  4. Typically it takes about 2 weeks for it to go from NVC to the Embassy. Then the process is Embassy specific. Our Embassy was so efficient that my wife did not have time to get her medical done before the interview date, so we had to reschedule the interview for the next week. Received a day that they do not do interviews on, so rescheduled again for the following week. Had interview and passed. Which Embassy are you going thru? As that will help as those who have been thru that Embassy can tell you what to expect as far as forms, procedures, and timeline.

Good luck on the next phase and congrats on getting thru the first part.

    Dave
