Has anyone successfully lobbied the embassy to re-issue a K-1 visa? My French fiancee came on a K-1 in July, but had to leave in October because of her parents' health. We didn't get married. I've emailed the embassy, but they say they can't re-issue the visa because we didn't get married. For reasons of which you're all acutely aware, we really don't want to go through the I-129F process again!!!

Peut-on envoyer un pdf des lettres de paquet-3 et-4 pour le visa K-1? J'essaie d'aider ma fiancee se preparer a son entrevue, mais elle est un "technophobe" et a des problèmes avec son scanner.

J'ai vu que la page ambassade française sur ce site dispose d'un PDF, mais ce n'est pas pour le K-1.

We sent in the Packet 3 on November 8, my fiancee just received Packet 4...and her interview isn't until January 30! This seems like a very long time to wait.

Do we only send back the D-230 (part 1) and D-2001 right now? I know we bring the birth certificate and other documents to the interview, but what about the D-156/D-157?

For the D-2001, what is her case #? Is it her A number or the NVC number?

Francois, for what it's worth, the processing time for AOS in New York is listed as being very long, but a friend recently completed it in less than 3 months.

Read the instructions for the I-134. They ask for different types of evidence depending on whether you're claiming income or assets, and whether you're self-employed or not. If you're not self-employed, you can send a letter from your employer (read the instructions for specifics).

For anyone's future reference, NVC was able to change the address and said that Paris would automatically receive the updated address.

Hello; we've just received the NOA2, but my fiancee's address is changing (same town). We haven't heard anything from the NVC or embassy--what should we do to make sure she receives the packets and other info?

Does anyone have a PDF of the contents of Packet 3 the embassy sends to K-1 applicants? I found one that looks generally what it should be like (http://travel.state.gov/pdf/pk3_supplements/PRS-PKT3-ENGL-0001-1007.pdf), but it references the I-864, which makes me think it's for another type of visa.

Compte environ 4-6 mois entre le moment ou tu as recu la first Notice of Action (I-797C) et le moment ou tu recois la deuxieme (I-797), si tu as bien soumis tous les documents... sinon tu recevras une Request for Evidence (RFE). Be strong!

I imagine doing it without VJ means they don't sit here and think about it all day long!

My yearly salary is at least 5 times more than the poverty line salary, and I'd rather not list my other assets (bank accounts, stocks, etc.). When the salary is clearly enough, is there any reason to list assets?
