  1. Hi All,

We are in the process of getting my daughter, she's 15 years old and will be accompanied by my brother. I just want to ask, need help:

1.) when I try to book her interview schedule online, there's no space where to put her details.

2.) what are the paperworks does she need to bring?

3.) what are the questions asked from your K2 and companion?

4.) she will travel alone, anything we need for her?

    Thanks and God bless!

Hi! When is your interview? I had my medical last April 14, 2014 but my interview was set for June 11.

  4. Hello all,

I have been comparing the timeline of others on here. Specifically the time it takes for the NVC to send the petition to Manila. My petition was sent on March 21, 2014 and I have seen others claiming the consulate receives the petition in a week. It is now going on 3 weeks and we haven't heard from the Embassy. I have called Manila repeatedly and they can't give me any clue as to where the petition could be. They just say wait for the notice letter. Not sure if this matters but a K2 visa is also in this process. We have completed the DS-160 (K1 and K2), 134, paid for the interviews, printed all documents, photos and proof of relationship.

Any ideas on what to do now?

    Thanks

You can call NVC at 603-334-0700 to get the MCN so you can book the interview. We only called to get it and I got a June slot for the interview. Just give them the receipt number from the NOA and your full names/DOBs.

  7. Hello everyone, this may have been posted a couple of times, but i cant seem to find an answer...its sort of a stupid question. But i am new to this visa thing.. i just wanna know one thing...

if i decide to have my medical this month, will they still accept my medical results if i get a slot date for interview by around june or july? I have been trying to get some slots but i cant seem to get one... im in trouble, my mom thinks im stupid for scheduling medical when i still didnt have my appointment date..i know how stupid i am, so please dont judge me, as i was so lost over other details of the process.forgive me for missing the big picture...

So, should medical be close to your appointment date? Please i need help and advices i can get. Im sort of depressed and really hopeless right now.

My fiance and i wanted to be together and i cant wait to be with him. I should cancel my flight coz i already booked it...i honestly thought that the interview appointments are not that hard. I thought you just have to sign up, complete some online forms, input date you want to be interviewed and voila! But now, im in a worst case scenario... i cant think of anything i am so confused.

  8. means tested benefits only come into play once your fiancee is in the USA, and you have filed AOS with the I-864. There is a list somewhere as to what is considered means tested benefits.

No VA benefits are not considered means tested benefits.

    Sorry, I don't understand..

  9. Income is income, doesn't matter where it comes from, money received is income.

    I got this response sir:

if you use any means testted benefits then you have to pay them back before you can use them on the I-864, if you used them in the past and are not currently using them that is ok, it will not be an issue, just if you are currently using them.

the VA benefits are not considered means tested.

    Means Tested Public Benefits

Federal means tested public benefits are the following:. Food stamps Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Medicaid Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) State Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP

    FAQs: Means Tested Public Benefits

Can the applicant use government assistance or public benefits? If the sponsored immigrant uses federal means tested public benefits, the sponsor must repay the cost of the benefits.. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/support/i-864-frequently-asked-questions.html

Sorry if I'm taking too much of your time.. I really appreciate it.

  10. You can, but his income must be adequate to cover himself (the brother), your fiancee (you), and his dependents. See the I-864P for 125% income requirements.

I see.. What about his medical disability retirement, can we use?

  11. Co-sponsors are rarely accepted for K-1 visas in the Philippines. Whether one is accepted or not depends on your circumstances, and of course its all up to the CO whether it will be accepted.

Do you know someone who did this?

  12. Hi All!

I just want to ask, what are the chances of getting approved when we get a joint-sponsor if the beneficiary is from the Philippines (Me)? And what are the requirments needed?

We are still waiting for our NOA2 but we want to be prepared ahead of time to avoid delays again.

    Thanks in advance!
