  1. I hope these inputs are not mere speculations. The finger printing only kicked off less than a decade ago. I know the names n finger prints of all applicants are cross referenced with that on the us visit database. i.e us visitors and immigrant status indicator technology. I also know that they cross reference with other ban lists buh what am hearing for the first tym here is that they also reference as a routine with all cases that have ever come to the embassy. The reason y am hoping yall r not assuming buh talking with confirmed facts. Thanks all

  2. pls ppl about d finger print stuff. A friend of mine applied for visa more than six years ago and was denied but is currently working on another visa with slight adjustment in her age on her birth certificate n passport. Do you all think dey cross reference current applications with info as far back as six years when der is no physical proof in the current filing. Mind u when she applied before she was denied. Do dey really as a routine run all names against the millions n der database beyond six months.

  3. I was asked verbally just before the sample was collected n i mixed my response with another date. Same year buh different day and month but it was not recorded. They used the info as it was on my passport. I was not quizzed on it though. As matter of fact i only noticed my error when i came out. Buh they went ahead to collect the sample n told me dey will call to tell me when d next interview will be. Mind u d sample was collected close to the security post not in the interview hall. Wont dey ve told me immediately if dey were dipleased.

  4. Hello all and thanks for ur assistance up till this point. I was at the consulate today for my dna sample collection, it was o, after it all i was told that i will be contacted via phone in four to six weeks. Now that i think about it i think i may have slipped off in stating my month and day of birth. Very dumb rii, buh d Consulate personnel didnt raise any issue on dat. I told my dad abt it and he said i shdnt be worried cos the purpose for the meet was for sample collection. I just dont feel rii maybe i need someone here to spank me buh more so i need ur views on this if its gonna raise any red flag since i was not taken up on that and also the panel physician processed my doc with the info on my passport n not what i verbalised. Thanks all. Ur chastising and recommendations will be appreciated.

  5. A visa at hand is worth more than hundred in view. Pls recall all d stress u had to go thru to get the visa, recall that ur getting though based on proof was made possible by some good luck, recall the anxiety u had, d thought that u wld have been denied then ask urself to know if u are a hundred percent positive that a visa will be re issued to you. Who knows what might go wrong. U will never forgive urself if something goes wrong. In another breath, what's ur major in skl? Will ur degree earn u a living in d states. Is it recognised. Will ur subject area make u relevant and qualified to work in the states.

In your shoes, i will defer my admission and travel. See the US first then make up ur mind if it will benefit u coming back to finish. I will go to d states first and ask questions later. Mind u most african trained professionals adjust their compass to make ends meet. After all d end justifies the means.

  6. @popo.... The dna thing is becoming a permanent part of the process. I am putting on the shoes of ur step kids cos i am a step child under the ir2 category. I went for my first interview in december and got the 221g form. So about the timeline for the dna.... Currently i am preparing to go for my sample collection at the consulate in febuary. From that point onwards it might take a few weeks before the final interview. I hope i have been helpful.

  7. If it helps u, i am a step child of a us citizen in nigeria my dad is a gc holder and i am almost through with my journey just waiting for the dna thing. So the truth is its gonna be a long journey for ur step kids cos it has been for be. My dad had his i130 completely approved before they started my case. Meanwhile , d dna thing is sure for ur step kids. It is becoming a norm in lagos. Ask me for any specific detail, will be glad to help. Forgot to mention my petition comes under the ir2 category cos as slow as i thing it is, it is the fastest and safest. Good luck.

  8. My ppl be at ease, d question is not if the embasy will open but if u will be able to meet up ur pre arranged appointment. Even in war, embassies open up to business, security will however increase. We are far from war so start thinking of how u will be able to transfer urself to the consulate on the day of ur appointment. If u live outside lagos, get urself in lag cos air transport will be grounded and the roads won't be very safe. Get booked in a hotel if u must or stay with a relative. The labour union will indeed unleash terror on all forms of transport.

  9. Hi all am a nigerian step child of an american citizen, i have using the nigerian portal but cannnot get much help so am here at the full house for general ideas. I ve gone for the first interview at the consulate here in nigeria n was given the 221g form, was asked to process the dna thing. Meanwhile my dad is a green card holder while my step mum is the petitioner. My dad has gone for the dna kit and gave the dhl tracking number which he was given by the lab in the us. Based on the information from dhl, the kit reached the embassy two days ago and i sent them a mail yesterday to know from them what is up. Was given an auto response immediately stating frequenly asked questions and answer. I was also told that i will get a specific response if the faqs does not address my case within three business days. Today is the second business day and nothing yet. I wanna know if anyone has knowledge generally about the time line and the next stage(s). Am really anxious cos on my interview day the CO just looked at my documents and requested for the dna and told me that when i get another interview i should come with proof that my dad's marriage to ma stepmum is not for immigration purpose only. Asked me to bring utility bills etc. Am just anxious abt how long this will all take. Pls ppl help a brother in this struggle.
