Last week I went down to the DMV for doing my written test for the Colorado driving License.
I showed them my documents:
- passport with I-94 form
- marriage certificate
- proof of residence
- bank statement to show joint account
- social security card
They mentioned I couldn't get my license and had to wait till the adjustment of status was done (which I just filed for a week ago)
and I could show them my greencard.
The other option was show them the I 797C Approval Notice and I could get a driving license BUT only valid for the time the
I-94 is valid (so that 's only one month more)
Does anyone have experience if this is indeed the case because on the DMV website I can't find the information if they tell me the
right way to follow in this process.

Thanks for the answers!
Do you know how long it will take before I can expect a reply on the I-765 application?

I just got married to my american man after entering the US on my K-1 visa.
After showing my marriage certificate I got a Social Security Card mentioning
"Valid for work only with DHS authorization". Last week I filed I-485 for adjustment
of status and the same time I filed I-765 for Employment authorization. Do I need to
wait till I have a reply on the I-765 before I can start working?
Thanks
which physical address during application process when moving
in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
Hello,
soon I will start the process to apply for Citizenship.
I have 2 questions:
1) We are soon moving and will be traveling around so won't have a “steady” physical address. Knowing the process will take a couple of months and they move the case when you move to another state. We do own property in Arizona but physically we won’t be there the whole time. Can I use an address of a friend or.... What do you recommend so I don’t delay the process?
2) My application is marriage based so “Be physically present in The United States for at least 18 months out of the 3 years immediately preceding the date of filing the application.”
I counted my time abroad over the last couple of years:
· In 2019: 9 months in the US, In 2020: 10 months in the US, In 2021: 4 months in the US (counted till May 1st), so 23 months which means I am good to go for the application?
Thanks
