If he is your fiance and you plan to petition for a K1 visa then you need to find out what documents you need from him and bring those back with you. You can find out in this forum or from the immigration dept. You can get the forms on-line or request the K1 package by mail.

Well, what can i say. I live in the US and fell inlove with an English man. We plan to be together but its very hard. I dont know where to start on the paper work or if i need any help. Meaning, do i need a lawyer or can i just do it myself. Im a bit of a control freak and want to make sure everything is done PERFECT.

Some info about me ...I live in NYC and work for a Banking Firm, 25 and Latin and inlove. Love dogs and the English lol... and he (Luke) will be coming over in a few weeks. I need someone, anyone to tell me how to get the ball rolling on this.

Well Angelica....."PERFECT" is the key word here. To speed things up, best to do it right and do it right the fierst time. Having been through this process, I used a lawyer and considered this to have been well worth while. You need to either get advice here about the materials you will need for a K1 visa, or from the BCIS web site. You can download the forms. He will need to get documentation there and as he is comming soon, would be good if he brought all the materials with him. Yours should be an uncomplicated case. Good Luck! George

I wanted to introduce myself to everyone, and hope to discuss what i need to do first while I am in the USA, and she's in the Philippines. I am going back in January, or Febuary to Marry her. What can I do while I'm waiting to go back at that time? Thanks!

Sad to say the route you want to take is not the fastest way to get her a visa to the US. It would be much faster to begin the process now to get her a K1 fiance visa and then marry her here. However, if you want to marry her there you should by all means inform the US Embassy in the Phillipines that you are there with the intention of getting married. If you do not go through this step, her visa will get held up for a long time as the BCIS really frowns upon a person going to a country on a visitor's visa and then getting married. Get advice here or from a lawyer. Good luck!!!!
