  • Our Story
I met my wife while I was in South Korea working in December 2010. I could not believe how many Africans were there in S. Korea. Anyway she left to return to school in Russia for her last semester after which time she would return home to Kenya. She invited me to visit Kenya and since I always wanted to visit an African country for so long. I agreed even though I was scared and did not know what to expect. My first trip was amazing. It was like going to your home even thought you never been there before. I did not see much different in our behavior. Guy and gals had the same laid back style. Mothers were mothers. Like my mom. The food I enjoyed. Eating greens, cow peas, ox tails, tilapia fish, beef stew's. All like home cooking to me. It was nice to have my own personal tour guide and doctor who taught me so much in two weeks about her culture. I visited Mombasa, Voi, Salt Lick, Kisumu and Nairobi on my first trip. it's was just amazing to find someone like her. At first she thought I was arrogant and rude but after talking lots. She realized that I was the nicest man she ever met. Not a day goes by that we do not talk on the phone or through skype, yahoo or goggle talk. There have been days where we talk for up to eight hours with never a dull moment. So we did finally get engaged and I asked her mother for her hand. I could not believe I had to do that and do the dowry thing as we thought we would get away without doing one. Mom had other thoughts. Overall I got away real cheap from what the uncles and cousins told me. We had a beautiful all white beach weeding in Mombasa and with everything filmed by Samantha's Bridal for Kenya TV. I don't know how I agreed to that. After the wedding there was a gathering of family members from all across the country and some from Uganda. That was an all day event. After all this was over, a bunch of us sat around drinking and joking just like back home until people starting passing out from tiredness and drinking. Took a short trip to Lamu for our honeymoon. Than back home I went where I started the Visa process and the long wait.
