He's finally coming! POE Minneapolis, MN, DOE 3/21/13!!!!!
-
He's still my fiance. He's coming on a K-1 fiance visa. We plan to get married in April or May. I don't think I'll calm down until he's finally here. It's excruciating!
-
There is no Carta Blanca needed anymore, as of January 14, 2013!
And he did not need to pay for the medical. I'm assuming that's because he's retaining his citizenship and his house. ?

Gricel/Arturo- Saw your ?'s on my mobil, but can't find them on VJ! I'll try to respond here though. My fiance will maintain his Cuban citizenship because we WILL try to go back every 2 years. He's got FAMILY & I'll want to be there, too. Anytime we just can't make it back every 2 years, we simply ask for a 2-year extension, which under the new law appears to b...

He'll eventually get U.S. citizenship. Each country will just recognize it's own citizenship, so it won't be called Dual Citizenship, but he'll be who he needs to be in each country

He's going to keep house, pension & Cuban citizenship- setting up all that took bit longer. But we'll have houses in both countries! He's currently getting Cuban drivers license B4 he comes & gets one here. He passed written test & is taking driving test this week. His initial driving will be in Spanish in Cuba, not in the 6th lang he's still learning (English) i...

Not yet! He'll be here in the next couple of weeks. It's been a long haul, but the toughest part is almost over (being apart). I see that you two tied the knot on Valentine's Day, Mayi! Wow! Way to go!

Julio got his visa Nov. 8. We just waited til the law changed in January and he could wrap up his business and keep his house. He'll be here within a couple of weeks now! !!!!

Mayi- Where is your review of the Interview? Isn't it usually accessed from your Timeline? I can't find it! I'll write my own soon.
-
Mayi- I see you two passed the interview also. Congratulations! It looks like the date was changed though. Was it THE DAY BEFORE MINE?! Julio&I were Oct.18. Yours says Oct.17. Wow! We could've met.
-
I was there! The only "problem" was even though we arrived before 7 a.m., we still had to wait till close to 1 p.m. for interview. The interview lasted all of 4 min. Main question was if I'd met and got along with his daughter (YES!) and if he'd met and got along with my sons (YES!) They also asked us independently how big of a wedding was planned... (small) so g...

We passed! Yeah! Now whether to pay more for Julio to come NOW or wait til Jan. 14 when the only additional cost will be the plane ticket...

Your interview date is fast approaching! Good luck!
Julio got Packet Three done Aug. 14, so he's been trying to get his medical schedule ever since. Finally, he got it scheduled for Oct. 8. Our interview date is Oct. 18. Will that be enough time for the results? Or how long did it take for your fiance's medical results to come? thx for the help

Starting to get nervous about interview, my fiance getting his carta blanca, applying for Salida Indefinitiva (SI), and finally navigating from his POE to my state... I have two questions: 1)when/how does he apply for SI? 2)Do I need to (or should I) be at his POE? Or if his POE is Miami, should he be able to catch his next plane to Minnesota? It's all pretty scary.

Back from Cuba. Packet 3 is done & everything's in order. Interview Oct. 18
-
If NOA2 expires in September, what do I do to extend it since the INTERVIEW is scheduled for Oct. 18?? Thanks for information anyone might have!
-
Mayi- What all info will he need to get the appt to get the packet? Our HAV number? Our interview confirmation number? My name and date of birth? Please let me know. Thanks!
-
Phone's ALWAYS busy! I just kept calling til I got a human being. Our interview date's later than yours (Oct. 18) because that's a break from school (I'm a teacher) so I can be there 2 Rep is e-mailing me packet3 today & I'll forward to Julio (she couldn't seem to get his email spelled correctly (it's long) so she sent to me. They'll snailmail it, t...

I've got my NVC case # & invoice # and I've heard some people have been able to get their Consulate interviews scheduled with just that. How? Please share! Muchas gracias!
-
Ok. I've got HAV # and invoice #, but lady on phone said we have to wait til Cuban consulate/Special Interest Section contacts us! I thought that was wrong based on VisaJourney... Who do I call to set up interview? Thx for your help!
-
No, it's taking a while to get his HAV# from NVC... I'm hoping to get it by Monday. Then he schedules his medical exam and I can schedule the interview, right? And he'll do all the Packet 3 stuff once Special Interest Section mails it to him? I feel like I'm missing some steps...
-
Thanks! Is all we need in order to set up Julio's medical exam the Case # we'll get when NVC receives the packet in a day or two? Then there's some number to call to set up medical? And interview? I don't see much on this next step... Thx for your help.
-
Thanks! I'll cross my fingers the NVC stage goes this smoothly. I'll be sure to post when I get the interview date.

I was in shock a few moments. Could it be real? I checked e-mail- said May 29 a notice was mailed that our application was APPROVED. I checked USCIS website, and saw the same thing. Wasn't sure if I should wait til I got NOA2 in mail or not before telling Julio, but it was just tooo good. I called him and gushed the news. We sat in stunned silence- with a Rebtel call to Cuba. Then we rejo...
