i have been in usa for two years and after a month i recieved my green card i filed for divorce because i couldn't stand her cheating on me and using me financially and in everyway else. i recieved the 10 years green card a month before i filed the divorce and she is threatning me to talk to immigration services and deport me if i don't do all what she wants. can she d that ? am i legally safe now or i made a mitake by filing divorce?

On August 17, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please

allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from

you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call

customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we

process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

we been married over three years so i don't think there is that lifting conditions thing right?

and is it over all i have to do now is just wait for my green card?

i had my interview done 2 months ago, the officer asked us almost same questions but she wanted more documentsproving we are a coupe i privided her with out rent lease, my insurance saying she is the benificiaary of my life insurance, pictures of our weddding and honey moon and others. we don't have joint bank account because she had some bank troubles before and can't open a bank account. but miss officer wasn't satisfied with my documents i provided and she asked for more. i asked her like what , she said like utility bills more mail, letters from friends and family stating we are legally married. well all utilities are included in rent we don't pay any, anyway , i gathered letters from family and friends about 8, and we sent a statement from cable company saying bill on both names , a letter from a placerent to own saying we had a bed set from there and it's on both our names, a statement from post office saying we have a po box under both our names and some more mail. ithas been over two months now and im still waiting for an answer from them. i made an appointement with tem tomorrow friday 8th to see what's going on.

Today we had the interview at indianapolis. We thought we were prepared and had everything we needed but we didn't. well here is the story:

After the officer called my name we followed her to her office we swore the sat down, she asked about our id's gave her my state id and my passport and i had the i-94 which i told her about, then wife gave her idshe asked me those questions name adrress and if i ever was a member of a communist party or a terrorist organization and all that stuff which was the answer no to all. she asked my wife job she hasn't worked for a while after her accident, she asked me where do i work and how much do i make i gave her a letter from the company saying when did i start working there and how much do i make an hour which is a little above the poverty line. then she asked about tax return if we filed , and yes of course we had the file she asked if we had a copy which we didn't so she said it's ok she would make a copy. she asked when did we meet and when we got married while we answered i offered her to see our two albums where we have pics of marriage and some trips and some with family ...etc she asked about proofs that we live together , we gave her the lease contract and a letter from where i work saying my wife is the benificiary of my life insurance. she asked if we had some more we said like what . she said like bills of insurance or something like that . well all utilities in my apt are included so we don't pay any utulities and phone and cable are on my name and not on my wife's name . we have separate bank accounts because my wife had a bank account before i came here in virginia before she moved here to indiana andkept and i opened my own when i started working here i tried to add her as joint but they didn't accept at the bank because of a past bad check. the officer left us for a long while before that to go make copies then came back ased us like i said for some more evidence and then left again and came back with the application for my finger prints and asked me to fill it in and then again left and came back with another paper saying that additional documentation is necessary; which is proof of bona fide marriage and shared life together...

then she took me to the waiting room so i can go get my finger prints done and kept my wife at the office ask her some more questions. i was kind of surprised , never heard it happen before after i was done with finger prints found wife waiting and she was like do u know why she kept me there i said i don't know she said they thought you beat me because her arm on a sling after she had an operation on her shoulder (rotary cup) !!!!

anyway don't know what to send them now and i have 6 weeks to provide more proofs and i don't think there is any lack of proof it just the officer who is ayoung lady probably in her first month there and who can't make BIG decision like this and need some more time and help to make her decisions

p.s i got my i-94 back ; bad sign isn't it?!!!

I just recieved a letter from immigration today about my interview appointement which is on 4/2/2007, and i want to know if the green card would be issued after the interview or we still have to go through something else like the name check or something else. we been through all kind of checks before and was held for 4 hours at the airoport for the name check and stuff like that and before i came to usa too same thing. do we still have to go through that again ???thanx to all and hope everybody have a smooth journey

thanx guys. no i didn't send the I864 a and that what they asking for i guess but am i allowed to be a joint sponsor as i am one of my wife's household. both of us will make more that the poverty guideline. but i have been here in the state only one year and haven't filed any taxes yet. and for the co sponsor we couldn't find any. her parents asked a lawyer and he scared them saying that if anything happens to me they will be responsible and if they don't pay they will take their house and properties !!!!!!

i applied for my aos in august and they sent me a mail but didn't recieve it and was returned then had to call them and fix it and now that i recieved it , it's only bad news and me was excited i thought it was the appointement for the finger print and biographic. anyway the letter i recieved titled request for initial evidence (I-485). and says the office is unable to complete the processing of your application to register permanent residence or adjust status without additional information. please submet the information requested below. ..... .

F. (26) The sponsor or joint sponsor indicate on form I864 affidavit of support that qualifying household member's income will be used for the sponsor's income to meet the 125% of the poverty line. if the attending immigrant is the only person included on the affidavit of support and is contributing his or her income, no I864a, contract between sponsor and household is required ..........

well, my wife doesn't meet the the 125% of poverty line so we put my income in there too but this is my first year in the state i filed for the work permit when i got here and just filed for the aos, so i worked here for a while and thought my income with hers is more than 125% but i never filed taxes all prove i can give right now is my paycheck stubs which i don't have all of them !!!

did anyone have the same problem and can anybody give me a piece of advice or what to do including that they gave me 87 days to return the letter they sent me with the evidence they need.

i am on a k3 visa, i applied for my work permit and finaly got it last month and was waiting to work so i get money to pay for the adjustement of status. now i want to apply for it but do i have to pay for biometrics too ? i already been fingerprinted and took my picture for my work permit !!!!
