  1. In the August 2012 AOS form i haven't noticed many approvals for august lately - I know that doesn't mean anything except.....

I'M soooo tired of waiting. ranting33va.gif

Oh Yeah, My local office is processing I485 from 11-22-12 RIGHT!

    Agrabs,

...and here I thought I was the last one in August on Visajourney.com who was waiting.....just today, online, they said my card should arrive by USPS priority mail on June 20th...tomorrow! Agrabs, you surely will here in the next few days...all of the rest of us August filers are long ago processed...we just happened to be at the tail end.

I'll be watching for your celebration.

  2. I'm sure I am one of the last August 2012 AOS filers at NBC although I know there are a few more that have not yet been approved. I have good news, today at 2:30 pm I looked online at USCIS forum for the 3rd time today and I was approved! Finally! What a wait. For everyone waiting in August and the next few months, please know that I and many others know exactly what you are going through. It is a long journey made difficult by needing to wait without word, without any expectation when you will finally receive approval. Yet, today was my day, my turn. I hope, really hope that tomorrow is yours. Blessings to all fellow filers in waiting.

  3. I'm also an August 2012 filer. I had submitted as service request on April 4th, and finally learned that it was processed this morning. It states that our case is under active processing, but requires additional review and we should expect to hear in 9-12 months... Wonderful.

I have no idea what would have triggered the need for additional processing, as our case is about as straightforward as they come (grew up three hours apart and met while going to the same grad school). I was told I can set up an infopass appointment to find out what there concerns are, and plan to do that ASAP.

I've seen that some people have also contacted some type of government representative. Does anyone have advice on who to contact, or when this is appropriate?

    Thank you!

So much time had passed on our August filing that we did contact our local congressman to see if he could find any information that our Tier 1 did not. The Tier 1 just read what was printed online. The congressman told us only that they were working on August 2012 and to keep our fingers crossed. I haven't heard anything since and that was awhile ago. I don't think calling a congress person helped other than this and in fact, it annoys the USCIS workers who answer the phones with all our concerned calls. The Tier 1's don't really have any information we cannot get off the website and from what I have read online, the Tier 2's seem to only be able to tell if they are working on your month, something we can find our easily from others on this forum. Infopass may tell you what is under review on your 1-485 but I suspect their access is also limited.

Somewhere else in this forum I read that a filer met a worker in a hospital that was at NBC and she said they were required to process 50-60 a day. That seems like a lot and if they run into any kind of snag, I can see their reasoning for putting it aside until they get more information otherwise they would get behind. That is my reasoning anyway. The 9-12 months given you may be a way of saying quit calling .... it will be done when it is done we are peddling as fast as we can.

We can only wait it seems and hope. Waiting as I can attest is not the easiest chore but let's hope we are almost there benoi027. I don't see any July filers responding lately so maybe they are all done and soon we too can rejoice.

  4. I think everyone can obtain AP but it is included in the price when you file your 1-485. If that was not done, then you can file later at your local office and they may charge you quite a bit.

When I filed AOS, it looked like most people were obtaining their interview within 4 months so I did not ask for AP.....little did I know! Thinking it would still be 'right around the corner', I've missed a family wedding, Christmas, Easter and opening the cabin in the north on May 24. "Still" I'm hopeful as now I'm getting near the 10th month....perhaps I should now file for AP and ignore that August filers 'may' get some notice within the next few weeks. My emotions have run the gamut before then even out yet again but this process is not easy on the psyche or affect. Most of us are coming up soon to 2 yrs since we filed for our K1's and then AOS and our lives have been on hold while we miss out on many things. I keep telling myself, just a wee bit longer and at least with being members of visajourney.com we are not in the dark without fellow travelers, so thank you, all of you who take time to tell your story and offer those like you encouragement. It will soon be over and we will be looking back shortly saying to ourselves ...remember when.

  5. My mom is 8/6/2012. Hopefully she'll hear something soon. I sent an e request at the end of March. They replied by letter last week stating to give them 6 months before contacting them again! They also left that request open so we can't make another one. sad.png the letter basically said they need more time to process it.

Sounds like very many people are now making e requests if they said six months! They told my congressman sixty days but now they must have upped it to discourage too many calls.

Well Nanpitt, at least we are in the August boat together. This August AOS forum has been quite supportive thankfully.

  6. Hello. I am reaching out to the August 2012 K1 AOS filers whose petitons are currently at the Lee Summits, MO NBC waiting on approval for processing of their green card. I contacted my congressman's office because I got tired of the run around from the NBC. I found out with 30 minutes of the congressman's aide calling USCIS that our petition is in the waiver interview process stage and around May 7th, Lee Summits, MO was processing priority dates around August2, 2012. Ours is August 27, 2012. Can any of you update me on your current sataus and what you have found out for processing dates or if you have gotten approved and your priority date. Thanks.

    Richard

    Richard,

My priority date is mid August and I have gone through the inquiry routes you have to no avail. The only answer seems to be 'just wait longer'. It is encouraging that some August filers at NBC are now being approved so we will hearing hopefully soon. We do not know there system, why some were transferred to local offices and received their green cards almost immediately and others left to wait on the shelf. We give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that 'soon' will be the notice in the mail. After having done all we can on our end, we can only keep our spirits high and wait but I think the end is near so that we can soon celebrate.

  7. We have no idea why it is taking so long as there doesn't seem to be any issues at all outstanding. Quite of number of August filers were processed in November but many of us were forwarded to NBC where they have sat, and sat and sat. Thanks for your good thoughts and through it all most of us are still hopeful that it will be completed soon and remaining as upbeat as possible.

  8. Not surprised, they told me 30 days and the next time I inquired, they said I could contact them in 60 days!

I don't think it is an issue for them that we have waited 9 months since initiating all this on top of some of us having spent a year on top of that filing our K1's. Psychologically it can get quite overwhelming. The good part is that we have visajourney.com as it helps.

  9. The whole thing is pretty ridiculous. I have a feeling that anyone from October who hasn't had an interview will be stuck at NBC for a while. It looks like they're just getting around to processing July 2012 people.

We're probably looking at June or later :\

You are correct. I'm an August filer and tried it all, service requests, congressman etc but no results, just wait, wait, wait. NBC is working on late July and from what I can ascertain, one week jump equals one month to do so.

If you are at NBC, probably the best advice is to not beat your head against the wall, let go...relax...it is what it is.
