  1. Hi,

I just wanted to know how long did you wait to receive your green card after approval. I got approved on May 11 however I didn't receive my green card. Can you please share your experience.

    Hello HR5,

First of all, congratulations with approval! To our big surprise, the green card arrived in less than 7 days--something like 4 or 5 days from the date of interview. Are you still waiting for yours?

  2. Hi OlenkaKyiv,

How was your interview? I hospital everything went well. Can you please share your experience?

    Thanks

Everything went well. Just a note, that was AOS for my parent, not K1 adjustment. So it could be different experience than for spouses.

Our interview was scheduled for 10am. We were called to the room at 11:50am. We left the office at 12:10pm. My guess they scheduled March 23 appointments for March 24th because the office was closed on March 23 due to snow storm. Therefore, we had such delay to be called.

I was asked whether I will be interpreting for my mom--apparently I should have completed some type of form which I did not. So I did completed the form at the beginning of interview. The officer took an oath and went over questions on the application like date of birth, name, kids, divorced/widowed, any past involvement with drugs, prostitution, political parties etc. Officer asked whether we received SSN, which we did but we did not have the number with us. She said it was ok.

Then the officer stated that no medical exam is needed (bummer because we did one just in case). She stated my affidavit of support was approved and that my mom is approved for Green Card and is considered a permanent resident beginning today even though the green card will be delivered by mail in 2-3 weeks.

We watched other people at the waiting room - mostly couples, all of them left happy. I did not notice anybody be upset. So i guess everybody had good experience.

I have received a txt message confirming the approval of the application while on the way to home.

    That's pretty much all.

  3. i have some update guys/girls

i had a interview on March 1st IO did not ask us alot of question just went over i485 and i answered all of them then i was asked my wife's name d.o.b wife's parents name and where they live. Where was my wife born which city asked the same question to my wife(USC). after that IO said thats all the questions i had for both of you do u have any joint accounts lease bank statements anything? we gave him bank statements, joint tax filed for this year and bills under same name thats about it. after that IO said the medical exam i sent them with the package is expired i will need to get that done i told him i have done one already last month IO said its perfect. IO: thats all i need now i have your complete file i will be reviewing the case again later today if i have time and make a decision. i asked him when will i get a decision he said you will get a letter in mail in 2-4 weeks.

i woke up this morning and checked the status on the case and it says "case approved we will send you the approval notice in the mail".

does it mean my case is approve and done now?

Yes, you are approved and can relax for another 2 years, in case you received conditional green card. Congratulations.

  4. Hi, I was reading your messages however I couldn't reply answer to you (they had an issue with the website and I couldn't join this forum ).

Denver is my field office and my priority date is May 4, 2015. I hopefully I can hear from them soon.

    Thanks for sharing your experience

Welcome to our waiting club. As you can see Denver is very slow, but I wish you the best of luck to get that so -long-waited interview soon.

  5. So you haven't heard anything from them yet?

I filed July, then being notified around September that my case is ready to schedule for interview but until now still stuck :( Glad I'm not alone .. Good luck to us!!

Yea' I'm wondering too why they let me call them ..

As I said, I already have scheduled interview for March 24th. As to details of my long-long waiting process, you can refer to my timeline outlined in my signature - see below.

  6. Welcome to the slowest USCIS office - I mean Denver. As to waiting time, give you an example, my filing date 03/27/15 and my interview has been scheduled for 03/24/16 - almost a year of waiting time. There is one lucky dude that filed in July as you did but already received the interview for beginning of March (8 months of waiting).

I wonder why the Dptm of Health would contact you. My guess is it is not related to your medical for AOS. Just call them and you will know rather than second-guessing.

  7. I spoke to my lawyer about the same thing i.e. the medical and they said yes I will need a new medical as one year has passed. They said turning up without a new medical could mean delaying your case or denial. So I would go ahead and get a new one, mine only cost $50 so its not so bad I guess to pay again.

Thank you for sharing this because I started thinking of not doing it and see what they will tell me at the interview. Our medical cost us $300. That was the cheapest I found.

  8. Congratulations!! Looks like Denver is a month ahead of Dallas so I guess I've got a month or more to wait.

Waiting sucks and the process should not be that long for any of the offices when others get their interviews in 4-6 months. I wish you to hear from the USCIS very soon-sooner than a month. :)

Congrats. They will prolly say during the interview that you need to update your medical file or not.. If it was me i would take an updated medical just in case they say they only can approve you with a valid medical. Maybe u can call the uscis and ask about the medical requirements.

Thank you for the input, I think I just will spend another $300 and get the medical done.

  9. Yes, at Denver office. I thought it took longer, cause people say it takes about 6 months, its gonna be 8 months for me. Maybe cause we have kids?! Or, cause we've been married over 3 years now?! I dont know. I have no idea how it works...

Well, you are the lucky one! Average waiting time for Denver office is 11-12 months now. See my timeline - we have submitted the application at the end of March and still no interview. Your 8 months is something out of ordinary. Good luck with you interview and please keep us updated how it went.

  10. You can either submit a form using this link https://cisomb.dhs.gov/oca/form7001.aspx which they'll take a few weeks to look at and get a response or call 1 800 882-8100

I hope it works out for you and I'm keeping my fingers crossed I hear something by Friday as promised.

Thank you! I knew they have form for online inquiry but did not read the page well enough to figure out that we can call. I might wait for 11 months threshold (I am very close) and if no interview, will file the request.

Good luck to all of us!

  11. Having phoned the CIS Ombudsman and had a return call from the manager on duty, they inform me USCIS had said all appointments would be given out before the 11 month period, they also expressed how many angry people they've had complain about Dallas but did not say how they'll be dealt with. I'm hoping they push this now as I don't want to be waiting a year or more.

Wow, don't you love it - they know about complaints but it seems like do not do anything about it. Even Houston appears to be faster, although the same state.

Aren't you in 11 months already? I hope they are correct.

Can you, please, give us phone number for CIS Ombudsman you called? I might try to contact them and complain about Denver office which not any better. Thank you in advance.
