  1. Well today at my biometric appointment I got them to hyphenate my husbands last name in their records. They were very cooperative. I also went to Social Security office and hyphenated my last name there as well. My SSN came in the mail this week and my last name appeared Antwi-Purvis. Just do that otherwise it will cost somewhere around $400 I believe. ohmy.gif

thank you very much..really big help :-)

  2. was you approved,or denied, what did the officer say.

he didnt say im aproved or denied...he just said " you may sit down and wait for the number to be called.. and Have a Nice Day"... and the window number 72 told me to wait and visa will be deliver at home.

but until now no visa yet :-(

  3. In almost all experiences ive read and was included on check list documents, applicants showed their appoinment letter for their medical exam,How long does it take to receive it,Does it only issued after scheduling the date of interview..I Just paid the visa fee 2days ago at BPI subic, and i havent scheduled or made an appointment yet for interview ..is Appointment letter really needed,Tim and I wants my medical done before christmas, will they accept me to undergo medical exam even i have no appointment letter to present at the lobby guard....thanks and God bless ...MAVS

as long as you have the MNL number or the case number..no worries..you can go there... i went to medical without it also. :-)

  4. Good day everyone and thank you for the helpful replies i got the previous days! I have yet another question to ask and this might be too personal to divulge but i just am sick worried. On our MEDICAL EXAMINATION (Manila, Philippines) they said the physician will check for slash marks (suicide attempts). I have numerous slash marks on both my wrists and even have stitches on my right wrist. I also have some scars on my stomach. Will these be grounds for a visa denial? I have been seeing a shrink in the last 3 months and I am taking meeds. I stopped my cutting for approximately 3 months now (since i started taking meds and seeing a doctor). Please, is there something that i should anticipate e.g. worst case scenario? I am really worried.

wow that may be a problem , if they believe you have mental problem , they may denie your visa . i think you should call orvis and ask mike he will tell you straight out if you are waisting your time . but you could always say you was attacked . if you tell them you are on meds for mental problems i believe you will be denied , but just ask orvis they know for sure the answer to your question , good luck .

  5. I will be adjusting my status in the U.S.My husband is a freelance and doesn't pay taxes. He gets paid with checks but I think this is still considered working "under the table." Will they deny my application because my petitioner doesnt pay taxes ? I will get a joint Sponsor, but I'm afraid that since my husband is the petitioner and doesnt have a way to prove his income, this might be an issue.Any thoughts ?

in order to get petitioned he must prove income , if not the usa will believe you will be a burden to the usa . it must be proved he has 3 yrs of tax returned , there is something called 1099 tax forms , this is someone that works as a free lancer but pay taxes , if you like there is a company called orvis in cebu , look it up and call them , if anyone could help they are the ones , that guy knows everything about fiancee petitions , iam sure he could guide you , we used them and our petition was granted and we have our visa approved already , my fiancee will come to the usa in a few days , good luck .

  6. hi ill share our experience.,after a week receiving our NOa2 my friend told me to always call nvc and ask for MNL case number., and when i have that case number even without letter we pay in BPI, then schedule our interview the next day.. im kinda doubt with it but we did try and accepted... then we keep calling nvc again asking if they forward it to USEM. when they confirm that they forward it already you can procede to your medical examination..

i hope our experience will help u.

  7. Hi, I'm also from Cebu. I booked round trip tickets. I arrived 6am on a Thursday in Manila and headed straight to St. Luke's Clinic. I would suggest do your medical exam on a wed-thur days and arrive there not too early. My flight back to Cebu was on 2nd day of medical exam at 9:45pm

    thank you.. :-)

i will go back again for interview :-)
