  1. Hello Guys,

I need to travel outside the US for a period that might last for 8 months so i decided to apply for a Re-Entry permit just in case I needed to extend my stay due to unexpected circumstances.

So I checked the USCIS web site and got the form but I was wondering if it is OK to apply while I did not receive my Green Card yet ? and if applying for the re-entry affects the issuance of the GC?

Also I tried to know how long it will take to get my biometrics appointment if i requested an expedited service but I could not find any info on thes matters

Can somebody provide his experience and opinions with such case ?? also I appreciate any advises

    thanks

  2. and here is the updated situation...

I went today to the immigration office to check my name and their records and they were fine and OK , I hope to receive my green card with my name correct on it.

they advised to check social security again , or use for I-90 to request a name change as a last resort .

i think that i should wait for the green card to arrive then i will take it to Social security office and ask for a name correction ... what do you think ?? also , do you know an office with more collaborative employees serving New jersey ?? the woman i met before had a short temper and did not say anything but go to the airport officer again

  3. Hi everyone,

I've just received my SSN and discovered that my name is spelled incorrectly on it , I went to the Social security office and they advised that the data were filled by immigration and they can not do anything about it and i have to go back to immigration to correct this error ... did anyone face this situation before ?? and what are the next step i should do about it?? and if it shall affect my name on the expected green card ??

  4. You read incorrect information

Your GC will not be valid until your second anniversary.

Your green card, if entering BEFORE your 2 year wedding anniversary, will be good for 2 years.

You need to be a legal resident of the US for 2 years before you file for removing conditions.

So, to sum up. You'll enter the US, get a stamp in your passport which will act as your temp green card. Your actual green card will come in the mail and it will be good for 2 years (assuming you enter before your 2 year wedding aniversary). 90 days before the expiration, you file to remove conditions

I've been waiting almost 7 months for my 10 year green card. Filed in April and still no approval.

    Good luck

Thanks a lot for the information... it is more clear to me now.

    Best regards,

  5. Hi Everyone,

I noticed that I shall receive my Green Card valid till my marriage second anniversary while I was planning to arrive to the states just before its expiration date by two month only, so I wonder if someone faced this situation before and if I can fill the I-751 Form to remove the condition using my passport and immigration visa that acts like I-551 after admission or not ?

Also what is the average expected time duration to receive the unconditional GC after filling the I-751 Form ?

    Thanks

  6. Dear All,

I hope that you can help me understand the process that I will go through once I reach the US ,

I received my IV and Visa package from the consulate where I noticed that a summary page OUTSIDE the envelop states that my final destination is New Jersey ( which is the address I mentioned in my application ) while I wanted to arrive in Los Angeles .

So I wonder if arriving at LA shall be a problem or cause a delay to receive my Green card or SSN ?? and what is the process that I should make to allow me to arrive at LA ??

Also how long it takes to receive my GC in normal circumstances??
