  1. CR1 is far better than K1 visa.Although CR1 gives conditional green

card for 2years. If you already married for 2 years then the case

moved to IR1 & your beneficiary will get 10 yrs GC in states.

AP is normal & mandatory for male visa candidate of all muslims countries &

& it is especially for MENA countries like us. Bangladesh has common AP males.

So, you cant ignore this process either you apply for K1 Or CR1.

Before you decide to cancel K1 pls check again with embassy & envolved your senator

to know the exact situation of your case. If they still says same thing & you want

quit from this process then apply to cancel K1 to USCIC & file a form to revocation your current petition. When you planning to marry just remember you need to keep enough evidence for relationship like picture , emails , travel docs , hotel bill , marriage ceremony picwith family etc. Also prepare yourself to wait another one year for Cr1 visa approval.

  2. Dear VJ'ers. (Not sure where to post this but my case is in AP so I posted here)I need help in making some serious decision and need all your expert advice.

Background info: My Fiance and I have been engaged since Oct. 2010. I filed for K1 Feb 2011, he had his interview Nov 2011 and we r now in AP for 5+ months. I will be visiting him in July and since we have been engaged for 1.5 yrs, we are thinking of getting married and file for CR1 assuming his case is not approved by July...But we are totally confused and don't want to go thru this entire process all over again!!! Please share your advice for the following questions we have:

    1. If I cancel K1 and file CR1 what are the chances for him to get AP again and how can we avoid it?

    2. Is there a way for me to expedite CR1 process??? (He is not in any war zone so I cant use that, but there are political instability in the country. Also, I am a Speech-language pathologist and work with disabled children. I refuse to stay away from my fiance once we are married because I cant go thru this same pain twice so can I use my job in any way to show that my patients need me and they will face difficulty if I quit my job and go live in Bangladesh until his visa is approved. I will email president Obama if I have to!)

3.If We do decide do go CR1 route, how can I prepare now so I can file As soon as we are married. I want to file the next day if possible.

Please Please Please help me...I feel lost....

Thanks in advance for all your support.

  5. we r very few people whose posted in here.. theres so many people who dont do it.. for the family visa they give one by one.. but for one person they dont do it..i think.. we have a gurl i here her name is rumy shes been AP before me.. her husband still under AP.. so its a luck i can say.. what else its could be

Yea, luck is there for someone & its true. But there is some logic behind as I guess each person background checking are not same & cant expect to complete in same time frame. So, when get clearance from DOS then they wait for next visa number available from Washington. After that they call those visa waiting person one by one in each month.

In your case may be they got clearance early & proceed for available visa number in april month. GOOD LUCK all the way of your life together.

  6. MY husband got his visa 2 hours a go.. finally the happiest moment is here.. after spending 5 anf half months in AP.. thanks everyones in VJ who helped me.. some of the people they really helped me so much.. thanx.. this site is very helpful...

  7. Hey,

I want to thank everyone on VJ for giving me strength, hope and support and I want to tell everyone who is still under AP to never lose hope and to have faith because the bad times will end and the good will begin..just be patient and have faith.

    Thank you ALLAH!

Congratulation ! After a long wait you got the good news .

Please share with us POE experience also.

  8. Our congressman was successful in getting the islamabad embassy to reply to their inquiry. LOL altho it didnt say much more than what DOS is telling us.

Simply put... The case is in normal processing at the embassy. There is nothing wrong with the case as it is undergoing the procedure and will contact the beneficiary when this is complete. No timeframe for completion.

They did reassure the congressman that our case was fine and it was not in washington or with any other unit within the embassy but is in normal processing.

Now.. LOL OMG i had no idea that there are so many ways to say ap :bonk: ... So what is Normal processing?

So is it just a matter of time? I know... :( nobody knows.... just hoping for somebody to see some hopeful signs in this :((

Just ready for my husband to come home :) and live our lives...

Can you please share how to contact with cogressman.

  10. Trust me, I understand that this is not an easy journey and takes a severe toll on ones life. I know at least one more person who is in the same shoe as you are for more than 2 months (on AP) and didn't hear anything from the embassy yet. Not that I am trying to paint a gory picture, but just giving you an idea that it takes months. Good luck for you two.

May I know about your case? When you received CR1 visa from embassy ?

    Thanks for your wish !

  11. Hello AHK:

Okay, pulled little bit more info from various sources at visajourney:

Administrative Processing (AP) - Generally all muslim men from countries on the *list of 26* between the ages of 18-45 get pulled for extra security checks. Getting a visa approval on the spot is few and far between in these areas and can take a week or even months to complete.

AP is extremely common for men of certain national origin. I would not recommend getting attorneys and senators involved in this at this point of the game. It could be two weeks to two months, but the person designated to run the security checks doesn't need the distraction of having the file pulled for multiple "status" inquires. They work these things in order of receipt and pulling it out of the stack creates the potential of the file sitting in an in-box, getting stuck on the bottom of a new stack or in office routing routines, or worst case Lost. Leave it alone to process through the system and don't worry too much until at least 3 months have passed which appears to be the magic number for AP in many but not all cases.

My suggestion: Please wait for the embassy to get back to you and give them 2 more weeks. If you don't hear anything from them within th enext2 weeks, reach out to them to confirm if something needs to be done on your end. Once you are able to hear from them, I guess all you can do is wait. However, check your email/mail on a regular basis. Don't panic if it says something that you didn't expect as they may send something standard.

Hope this would help a bit......

    Dear Brother ,

I have sent an email to embassy yesterday & they replied to me as below

The required additional processing is pending. We will contact you as soon as the process is complete. We appreciate your patience and understanding on this matter.

Thanks for your advise .I am not panic at all but I miss my wife so much who is far away from me right now.

  12. It was a male officer. yes they returned my husbands birth certificate as well but kept everything else.

I will update you, you also update me when you hear something from the embassy.

Yea , sure i'll update you if I hear anything from DOS or embassy.

yesterday my wife left BD to MN , USA & I feel so lonely here .

Anyway, where do you live in US ? I told my wife to call DOS from there & update me .

  13. Yes I have signed on DS230 2nd page .

But all were ok with me. Most question asked to my wife & they returned my passport & said you'll be contacted when we finish AP. Also CO kept our marriage certificate , picture , police certificate & only return birth certificate & passport. Then me & my wife return from there.

I think your case is all good to CO but for males they need to check background or name check. Please bear with sometime & hope you'll hear good news very soon . Never forget to update me if ur husband receive visa after completing AP .

Please let me know was there male officer or female officer took your husband interview .

  14. May I ask what did they ask you at your interview? Are you missing any documents on your side? Did they make you sign the DS230?

    Yes I have signed on DS230 2nd page .

But all were ok with me. Most question asked to my wife & they returned my passport & said you'll be contacted when we finish AP. Also CO kept our marriage certificate , picture , police certificate & only return birth certificate & passport. Then me & my wife return from there.

  15. No my husband didn't get his visa yet, our case is still pending. When was your interview?

Well i had my interview on 10/10/11 & they put my case into AP.

Did you check with DOS & ask about your husband case status ? It already 2 months for your husband waiting for AP . Is there any documents were missing with your side or what CO asked to your husband at last ?

  16. This Kabir from dhaka & recently I had my interview with Dhaka US embassy .But they gave me blue sheet 221(g) mentioning remarks additional process .

Me & my wife went to embassy & we both were present at the window where CO was taking our inteview . We have answered all his question then he told to wait us outside waiting room. After few mins he called me & ask some question to my wife. Then he gave me blue sheet & return my passport said you'll be contacted when we finally decide your case . But CO kept all of our marriage photo album & marriage certificate & police clearance.

    Guys,

I got my CR-1 VISA too on 27th May and just coming from the US embassy collecting my VISA. Thanks to all mighty and I wish you all get the CR-1 or IR-1 VISA when you apply. Just make sure you have all the doc's they ask you to bring. Though they treat every case in a unique way but it seemed to me that haveing a lot of pictures is a good sign and it proves your relationship and the time line.

So good luck and, please if you need any suggesation about CR-1 please ask me, I'll try to help as much as I can.
