Just an update over here! We went to our interview yesterday and were approved on the spot. The office was running about 1.5 hours behind schedule so there was lots of waiting around, but our IO was very nice and relaxed. The interview probably lasted about 20 mins, with some of that time spent copying documents. Very low pressure and she asked basic questions like where did we meet, when did he propose, have we met each other's parents, etc. Then went through the yes/no questions of the I-485, and subsequently told us she was going to go ahead and approve the application. Got a letter form from her saying that it had been approved and to expect the green card in 3-4 weeks. Yay!

The IO was really really nice and kind. He said I should get my green card in 3 weeks.

4:30 PM checked USCIS website and it said "Card production order"

Correction on my update! I just checked my email it says that

EAD - they ordered card production.

AP - they mailed me approval notice.

Does this mean I will get AP before EAD?

They will come together in one card.

You had your biometric 10 days after me, so I think you will get your EAD within 2 weeks. Hang in there!

Got EAD and AP combo card in the mail today!

Wow that's fast. Only 3 days after approval!

You will get your EAD before then. They have a max of 90 days to get it to you. If you don't get it by 12/8 then you just call them and they will issue an inter-min EAD card as that is their standard SOP. Good luck with your case.

OMG Just check the online status, and it says they sent me an interview letter out today. The date is on December 6th! No EAD yet but this is a very good news!

USCIS mailed me EAD card on 4th of Nov and AP on 28th of Oct hope it will be soon in our mail box!!! But still no transferring to CSC or scheduled interview

Generally yes, but it is not always the case. I am adjusting from L-1, sent everything in on Sept 19th, have interview on Nov21st.

Kampai99--How were you able to get a job that pays 48K a year without a Green Card ( or permission to work without DHS authorization ) ? Also what does your SS card have on it ? Just asking .

I'm on OPT (f-1 visa). I have an EAD which will expire in late December. My SS says something like 'valid for work only with DHS authorization' because I got it while I was working on campus 2 years ago.

I know this is a topic for K-1 but I enjoy your company here since the AOS-from-other-kind-of-visas thread doesn't seem to be active at all

If its any consolation, Im in the same boat. NOA dates after mine have already received EAD approval notice. If you are 75 days in from your priority date, you can call in for a service request to have it looked at. I am around day 64ish and they told me to call back. 7 weeks is 49 days so you should technically have it by then dependning on how far you are out already.

Does it mean I should contact USCIS if 75 days pass from my NOA1 date and I don't have EAD card yet?

To tell you the truth, I'm super stressed out and depressed now. Some of you have NOA1 date later than mine but have EAD / interview letter already.

Is it normal that AOS from K-1 get processed faster than AOS from other type of visas?

Better do it now and send it with initial package. It is not fun to receive an RFE as it will delay your process for at least a week.

USCIS lost my medical exam I sent in and issued me an RFE so don't forget to pray at the moment you drop off your package LOL

One more thing. I applied for I-485 and EAD and AP. But on my Appointment notice it only shows I-485 and I-765. How about my I-131/AP? Does that mean they are not processing it? I got my NOA also for my I-131.

Same here. My bio appointment mentions I-485 and EAD. Don't worry... AP process doesn't need finger printing

Thanks, kampai99!!! Good to know I'm not the only one that happened to! Do you remember by any chance what exactly it said on your RFE? Cause I've been wondering if they lost it, or if there was something wrong with it.

Did your civil surgeon just copy the medical or did he fill it all out again? And did he charge you for that? Let me know how it all works out for you

It said exactly the same thing as yours (Send a signed and completed from I-693...). My CS filled it out again with the same lab results since they were less than a year. He didn't charge me a penny (thanks doc!). Your CS should do the same if your results are still less than a year old. I mean it doesn't cost him anything except few pieces of paper and 10 minutes of his time, right? Oh and make sure your CS use the right version of I-693 form.

EAD Card Production today

So happy for you. I am desparate for my EAD. I'm on OPT and the current one is gonna expire on 12/23. I hope I will get a new one before it expire.

They lost my medical too. I went to my civil surgeon and asked for another copy of my medical exam. It's not a hard thing to do but it does delay my application for a week

Don't worry, all 3 of my receipts don't show up in the website. I've read that it's quite normal, and that USCIS even said not to rely on their case status updates online. It still sucks though that I don't see my case status even if it's under "Initial Review". The same thing happened to my K1 visa, so don't worry about it. You might even get approved faster than all of us.

Glad to hear that Hope I wish you luck and patience throughout this time. I never think we need luck in Federal process before, but after USCIS lost my medical exam, I change my mind and always pray for more luck!

I have 3 receipt nos also for my wife petition ( we filed based on K1)--I-485, I-765 and I 131 . I entered them on my Case Status on the UCIS site .and I have updates on each of them and can view the status on the USCIS site .

This is why I'm nervous about my case

Anyone here whose not all receipts showing up on USCIS? Hope this is not just me
