  1. More than likely will be 60 days from the time they receive the corrected documents. Happened to me and my wife because I missed 1 block of information on the I-864 form and my wifes passport for Colombia was going to expire in 4 months and they wanted at least 1 year remaining on that so we had to re-do the form with the correct info filled out and get her a new Colombian passport. This simple mistake tacked on probably 2.5 months to our wait for her interview...really sucks but what can you do when the fault is your own?

  2. I just received a text last night stating that our I-130 was approved on 18 July and that a letter was to be mailed to me with further instructions. This was only 3 days after our I-130 file was transferred from the Nebraska Service Center to California's. Our file sat at the Nebraska Service Center for close to 5 months with nothing happening and was eventually transferred to California Service Center where it seems like the process was expedited.

I assume the next step will be for our files to go to NVC for final processing? As Guioyugo posted in his inquiry...my wife and I will also be waiting for the paperwork to go to the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia for the interview and visa processing.

I know the timelines are hypothetically based off several issues at the NVC processing center, but how long should one anticipate waiting before instructions are received about the medical appointments and interview at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota?

    Thank you for your help!
