I'm a bit frustrated that we have no idea when we will receive the visa after our interview. At any rate, I purchased a cheap one way flight from San Jose to Fort Lauderdale.

Hey welcome to VisaJourney. I have a similar story. I filed the I-130, and I can tell you that the I-129f is a complete waste of time. Check out my timeline. From the day I filed the I-30 (December 22, 2011) until the day of our interview (November 19, 2012) we will have almost 11 months. My wife who is in Costa Rica did all of leg work gathering documents, translations, authentications etc..

Thanks,
I'm waiting for my wife's original documents to arrive by snail mail, so I can re-send them and the visa application to the NVC.
After that, they can send our case to the Embassy and we will get our interview date.

I looked at your timeline, and you are moving along quite fast. My wife and I have just hit the 8th month since I sent her
I-130 petition. Now, our case is just about complete at the NVC. Next stop: The US Consulate, San Jose.
