  • Our Story
We have always been told “good things come to those who wait.” I never really believed that but I still had hopes that someday God would bring someone into my life that would be very special. In the spring of 2011 I had almost given up hope when I sent a “friend request” on a social network. The next day I got a notice that my friend request had been accepted. Immediately I sent a response to say thanks for adding me as friend. Once again the next day, to my surprise, I got another reply. It was at this point that we opened our first line of communication. Two weeks later we were no longer “emailing” to each other but were chatting daily on Yahoo Messenger. The next week we felt comfortable enough to start video chatting, my first experience with that, with each other. In a matter of days our video chats were lasting longer and longer. On the weekends we noticed that we would chat for over 8 hours sometimes with no “awkward pauses” in the conversations. We discovered that we had so very much in common even though we lived in different countries and over 8000 miles apart. It wasn’t long before I knew I wanted much more than an electronic relationship with this wonderful person. I asked if they thought or felt the same as I did and, once again to my surprise, the response was yes. Our conversations became more and more about our hopes and dreams and what we really wanted out of life. Soon I came to the realization that someone else was involved in this relationship and they were much more powerful than either of us could ever be. We discussed if I should visit her in her homeland and we agreed that we both wanted to meet to see if these feeling we were experiencing were real. We made plans for me to travel and spend 8 days in her hometown of Tuguegarao City. She, along with her aunt, niece and two cousins met me at the Manila airport. As I was standing in the area where you locate the person who is meeting you someone walked up to me and said “are you looking for someone?” When I turned I was looking into the face of an angel and I knew that God had answered my prayers. It was at that instant that my heart no longer belonged to me but now belonged to the most wonderful person I have ever met. That very night in front of her family I asked her to marry me and to share our lives together and once again God blessed me when she said yes. At last I have found the first person I want to see when I wake in the morning, the last face I want to see before I sleep at night and the person whose face I want to be looking at when God calls me home to wait for her in Heaven. God does answer prayers and good things do come to those who wait. So now we are waiting once again and this time we are waiting for the time that we hear the words “you are approved” welcome to the United States.
