  1. Hello everyone,

Was wondering when I first sent a message when coming aboard VJ a few replied back to me referring to me as a guy and couldnt figure out why, thought they were just being silly so didnt bother correct them, especially since I said in my first few messages my fiance not fiancee.

I hope if you are female and you are engaged that you are still referring to your fiance as fiance. Fiance refers to a male who is engaged to be married. Maybe I misread what you wrote, but the good news is you have now made it clear you are female and not male.

  2. Because the INSTRUCTIONS for the actual form trumps the guidelines on this site which are unofficial. ... Simply confirming that the site needs to be updated. Why are you so defensive about getting quoted? (Where's the emoticon for rolling of the eyes.)

I think you should be careful about making assumptions. I was not being defensive. I was asking a question because it seemed to me that you had quoted me by mistake. I wish you nothing but good luck in the future.

  3. "In place of any of the above, you may give USCIS a copy of your valid, unexpired U.S. passport issued with a validity period of at least five years. You must submit copies of all pages in the passport. " Straight from the I-129F Instructions.

It's in reference to using the passport as proof of citizenship, but the same applies for copying your passport to show as travel documentation of your entrance in and out of the visiting country. All pages. Preferably in color.

J and S why did you quote me when you wrote this? What you wrote doesn't address the guide on this site and whether or not it needs to be updated.

  4. but perhaps you'd want to call and make sure ur number is recognized but the automated system

I was concerned about it and called them about it. They told me the receipt number on my NOA1 is correct. I said, "Ok, so you are saying the number is the correct number and there is nothing to worry about." They replied, "Of course." That got me a little upset, but I kept my cool and thanked them for their help. I mean "of course" was not what I expected to hear when I'm calling to tell them their own database has no record of my petition.

  5. Good day,

If it's just a "card and letter" you're sending, I've found that the USPS (United States Postal Service) has ALWAYS been the cheapest.

Yes I thought USPS was the cheapest but I was concerned with the Philippines postal system botching the job. It appears my worries about their postal system are unfounded.

  7. I always send thru USPS. I think its registered mail? I'm not sure if i have the right name. I have a tracking # with my receipt. Reasonable price. Reasonable delivery time.

Ok, well this may be my best option. I was told that the Philippines postal system had long delays. If your items are being received within reasonable times, then it must not be true about the Philippines postal system.

  8. I'm a US citizen looking to for the "best" way to ship a card and letter to my fiancee in the Philippines. According to UPS, sending the card and letter will cost more than $60. I would think USPS would be cheaper, but I have heard going through the Philipines' government postal system is not recommended. Is Fedex or DHL considerably cheaper than UPS? Any ideas?
