  1. I stayed in mexico while his paper CR-1 visa were in process! you do have to have a us address and a co sponsor in the usa(u wll be the main sponsor) I would marry him (civil) and have the prosses go on while you live here in mexico and prepare you wedding here in mexico. For us it took about 3- 4 months to get visa in hand! Once you have visa ...you have a certain amount of time to use it!! 6months from the issuing date it expires. My hubbys expires in Dec and we already went and came back. We are now in the mist of packing and selling our belongings. I should be getting my transfer back to the usa with in he next two months! B4 Dec we will be in the USA for good.

My husband also was denied turist visa twice b4. It realy has nothing to with one or the other.

  2. You're in Mexico, just walk across the border like everybody else! ha ha. When I'm in Tijuana I would say half if not more of the people I meet are deportees or people who crossed illegally, then married, then had to go back for some time as a slap on the wrist. I'd just look into marriage laws in Mexico and make sure you are ok with them, some countries shift power to one side when you get married. I personally would never enter into any contract outside the US because I just don't know enough about their laws.

Well welcome!! This is a very helpfull web site!!

YOu can file while living here in Mexico it is called DCF Direct counsular filing!! I think you have to be residing in mexico minimun 6 months ! Either way you go! K1 Fiance visa or Cr1 spousal visa! We just did CR1 and my hubby got it 3 - 4 months!! I dont know hw long it has been taking for k1 visa.

Just read tru this site on the mexico forum and you will get more info.

  3. That was the same for me. Check your status on the account you created for the interview. It will let you know the DHL tracking information.

Yup same here !! My hubby did not get anything about DHL. The officer just told him he will get it in the mail in 4 weeks!! But it took 2 days!! Go to the web site where you made your appointment for the intreview and fingerprints and you can track it from there.

  4. The last time I did this, we filed the normal way (sending a petition to the Chicago lockbox), so when it was approved, we got the I-797 approval notice (aka NOA2) . My attorney said Seoul is finally approving our petition as of yesterday. She had to step in because they got confused about why we were filing when we had already filed before and had stalled approval, so she's been in communication with them more than we have. Anyway, I'm wondering if they will mail us one of those I-797s eventually or if everything is just different in DCF?

I am sorry  I dont know but I am glad your situation is moving along!!!

  5. My question is after the interview on 8/10 @ 8:15 will we get the packet the same day at the dhl location there? I have read that yes you do and some not so positive,.... Its so confusing. i need to know so i could make the pepper arrangements. What have been some experiences?

When you filled out the fom DS-260 on line or when you make your appointment on line it ask you which DHL office you wanted to be deliverd!! That was the case with my hubby in June.

We had his sent to our home in mexico and it got there in a day and a half!!

  6. Wow, no kidding they're fast. They already emailed back with our appointment time. NEW FAVORITE CONSULATE!!!!!

Thanks for the pointers. It's been 4 years since I was filing paperwork, and I am clearly forgetting a LOT.

I just read your storry!!! :crying: WOW you are a very strong couple!! I too came to be with my hubby since they denied(for different reasones) his k1 visa in 2004 in CD juarez. Have been here in mexico and ready to back with my family to the US this year. He got his cr1 visa last week.

So what day is you appointment?? So I can pray for you ....just like alot of people prayed alot on his intreview date.

  7. We had a similar experience...my wife got her visa a couple days after her interview, much faster than we thought it would be.

Your husband can use the temporary stamp / sticker page on his passport to enter and re-enter the US as much as he wants. Once he has the actual green card, he'll use that instead.

My wife lived along the border, so she used her temporary sticker to cross back and forth several times while waiting for her flight to come back to Philadelphia. Where we live now. Your husband should bein good shape! Just don't open that sealed envelope! :)

    Thank you guys!!

  8. Can you belive my hubby has his visa in hand already??? HE got approved on the 20th and last night I decided to just check the info visa web site, where it tells you if you visa is on its way on DHL. Well it had already arrived onthe 22th!!! :hehe: WOW that was fast!!

So now I have a question once my hubby goes to the usa (port of entery will be Houston) we will turn in the envelope ...does anyone have any idea how long that takes?

It says on the form that he will recieve a stamp of evedince of recidency valid fr one yr until he gets his greencard. My question is can we go back to mexcio and then come back to Houston again just using the stamp or his visa which is valid til Dec 2012?

  9. My hubby went to the medical exam today!! It was $5000 pesos  !! And worst of all the results will not be in till tomorrow after 10am!!! his appointment is at 8:15 :bonk: !!!! I am so scared!! He went to the consulate to let them know and the receptionist said it was okay to come back when the results are in!

Also I dont know if you remember my case but he was denied k-1 visa 8 yrs ago. For admiting drug use ! So today they made him sign a letter where it states that he acknowledges that info from the last time 8 years ago!!!!! He also has a letter from the rehab place he went to for 3 months to meetings!!

Can they see he is a diffrent person now......married, 2 healthy kids, has had the same job for 7 years !!! If anyone is reading this please pray for us!!:help:

  10. Well when my hubby went back to the clinic at 2pm ....he waited 45 minutes for the suppervisor to come out and she asked agian if he knew which clinic he used b4 and if he had the results!! He told the lady this is a new case not a continuation of the one 8ys ago!! :bonk:

She took a while to process HER mistake and then told him we will see you tomorrow then. All I hope is that his results are in tomorrow cause his intreview is on wednesday!!! I will be soooo pissed if he has to go to the intreview without the results!!!

  11. Okay so my husband arrived today at Cd Juarez and he had time to go to the meddical exam. When he was asked if he had been here b4 he said yes about 8 yrs ago. They asked what clinic he went to ....we have no idea !! And they said they can find his file!!! What !!! He was unable to do the exam today and was told to go back at 2pm to see what will happen!!! What does that have anything to do with now!!! Back then was k1 now its I-130???? Please can some one maybe explain what could be oing on?????:help: I am worried!!
