  1. After an AP of 3.5 weeks, I got my visa on Wednesday, Alhumdulillah! The call came out of the blue... my father received the call from Amex at my family home, from whence he called me at my parents-in-law's place. My husband was to leave on 2nd Sep and I had a ticket too, which we were going to cancel today but now that the visa's here, I'm due to leave for the US in about 36 hours, Insha'Allah.

Relieved, excited, panicked.... more details later. Prayers for everyone!!

  2. I don't think Hijab is an issue, what i have noticed that if u r married for less than an year or so & don't have kids together, they put in AP. Maybe i am wrong but i think that is the main thing.

But a lot of people apply right away... and they do get the visa so I don't know if that's a factor. Plus, the CO interviewing me seemed convinced about the genuine nature of our relationship... she didn't even ask me to identify people in photographs of the wedding. She'd seen the pics even before calling me to the window.

  3. Dear Bro,

you dnt worry, I have a feeling your wife will get the visa soon may be in one month, i previously wrote to someones thread about my friend who was temporarily refused without any reason. My friend is a pharmacist so they just wanted to check either she was involve in any research paper or not.for temporariry refusal they give green paper.

Further, I have noticed since many days those girls who wear hijab goes to AP which is just frustrating, wearing hijab is ones own decision and its about our religion, I dnt know why the hell they link the hijab with bad intentions... thats simply rediculous.

I pray your wife will get her visa in days only. InshaALLAH.

    Regards,

    SZ

I wear the Hijab too by the way...

  4. Your case was approved by the CO? And u r waiting for passport?

She didn't say "Approved" but it certainly seemed that way... interview was very brief and positive (all smiles, CO was satisfied with my answers), and when I asked her if she needed anything more from me, she said, "No, no, you've already sent us everything." The way she said that, plus the way she was flipping through our file and the pictures we'd sent with our original I-130 application, indicated it was okay. She kept my passport too and returned my original documents. So yes, I'm waiting for my visa-fied passport! :) God-Willing.

  5. I could be wrong but I get the feeling that the RESPONSE DATE is actually like "Last Updated" on the USCIS case status page. Look at Hyder_ejaz above... his response date was 1st Aug and he got his visa issued on 1st Aug. My response date was 30th July at first (my inteview was on that day), then it changed to 1st August and hasn't changed since. So I'm guessing this is like when you file is "touched" for processing... at least some movement is visible this way!

  6. Hello everyone! I thought I should come out of hiding and say 'Hi' now. As you can imagine, being a female and our case going all smoothly all the way, Alhumdulillah, this happening now - being put in AP - was a bit of a surprise. My interview was very smooth and very brief. We had front-loaded our application so I could see the CO already flipping through all the relationship evidence and pictures before she even called me up to the window. Right when I was expecting her to say, "You're approved...", she reached for a green slip and handed it to me, telling me they needed more time on our case and that she couldn't give me any idea of how long it could take.

Hubby and I have been taken aback...he's coming to visit me in a week, after 11 months of being apart, and the plan was to take me back with him in early September, where he's starting a new job and we were to set up house together. But we do not know what Allah Knows and Plans for us... just hoping it'll be over soon.

I will put up a detailed account of my interview experience here for everyone soon, Insha'Allah.

Much love and thank you for making this thread...keeps everyone united! May we all be rejoined with our spouses... very, very soon. Ameen. :)

  7. I read somewhere on VJ that you just have to bring the 2011 transcripts to the interview and they won't ask you to resubmit i864. Just in case, though, keep a copy of the form you sent with you (even though it'll be in your file in the embassy too).

My husband and I are just about to send our AOS package but we're waiting on the transcript that should come any day now. I was for sending the AOS anyway and taking the 2011 transcript to the interview later but since we're expecting the transcript any day now, we decided to wait a couple of days and send it all together. My point is, it's okay to take the transcript later. :)

  8. Thanks everyone for your kind words and advice. I truly appreciate it and a lot of your responses were running through my head as we were talking...

My world is crashing, the tears have been non-stop, and although my heart doesn't know it yet, my brain keeps saying it's for the best....

    Dear Saylin,

I read through all of the posts and I am shocked beyond words. :( I cannot even begin to imagine how you feel or what to say to lessen your pain but do understand that you are in my prayers and that you will certainly rise above this. You definitely deserve better. I know it must hurt right now like nothing has hurt before. Cry as much as you feel like but pray hard alongside. Pray to God to give you strength and take your life out of misery.

Trust me... time is the biggest healer... you WILL get over him and you'll move on to your wonderful future, a smarter and wiser person, more able to take on the world. None of this was your fault but you have the opportunity to rebuild your life and focus again. And also, you might feel like speaking up for him right now or defending him (and this is understandable, since you loved him and married him), but there will come a time when you will want to express the anger you feel inside. Express it, cry and then move on without every looking back.

You deserve so, so much better than him.

    Take care and stay strong!

  9. Hi!

My husband's filling out the AOS for me and it's all fine except for one question where I'd appreciate help from an VJ-er who has filled the AOS recently. It's about the domicile. My husband is a USC and is employed, has a driver's license in the US, pays his taxes, etc etc. Does he need some kind of special document to prove he is domiciled in the US?

In Pakistan, we have a document that we use as proof of domicile, so that's what made him wonder if there is one such document in the US and if he has to get it made.

If it's not needed, or there isn't a formal document, what do we fill in the AOS?

    Appreciate the help!! :)

  10. Oh. Then the first one must have just been them automatically generating it. The second time was probably in response to you paying the AOS fee and noticing they didn't have your DS-3032 on file (since they hadn't gotten to your email yet). It's the third time I don't know why they sent it.

And you didn't actually respond to NVC's email, right? You sent your own email, following ALL the instructions on the template? You put the specific subject line, you put the correct information in the body? You sent it to the right email address?

Yes, I triple-checked my email every time. Sent a fresh new email both times. Everything is in order and I used the template on VJ. My subject line was "DS 3032 - Choice of Agent for NVC Case Number ISLXXXXXXXXXX".

I guess I'll wait for a week and see what happens. :\

  11. If you prefer to receive the email in the US, you'll have to let the NVC know that all future correspondence is to be with you. You're going to act as an agent or attorney for your wife. That is *exactly* what the DS 3032 form is about. So let her fill it in and email it to the NVC. Or, if you want to go by the postal route, have her download the form, fill it in and sign it (the beneficiary has to sign it when mailing the form via regular post) and mail it to the NVC herself... or to you, and then you can post it to the NVC. Either way, your wife has to let them know you're her agent now.

    Hope that helps!

  12. The first time you received the DS-3032 from them, it was in response to you paying the AOS fee. They did not check to see if you had actually sent the DS-3032 yet. Not sure why they sent it the second time though...

The first time was on 30th April - our first email from the NVC. That was just the Choice of Agent request. We replied.

The second time was when they got our AOS payment - 5th May. Unsure, we replied today, to be on the safe side.

The third time was today, 7th May.

I hope I've written that out clearly now... it's so strange. :s

  13. Ok, first off, stop sending emails of the DS-3032.

Second, ignore emails from NVC about the DS-3032. Just focus on the ones where they respond to your emails. They'll either approve or reject them.

Did you follow the template here exactly on how to send the DS-3032 form data?

I did exactly as they asked the first time around i.e. 1st May. Meanwhile, we were paying for the AOS. On 5th May, NVC emailed us that the AOS payment had been processed and now, we should send in our DS 3032 for further processing. They also mentioned this was a repeat request for the DS 3032 and that we didn't need the barcoded one either - just download the form and send it. They said we could email it too, if desired.

So, just in case they missed my first email, I resent it today - 7th May - only to get a brief email from them with the DS 3032 barcoded form again!

I had already read your FAQ so I won't be sending any more email and will wait for them to accept what I've already sent.

  14. It's actually referring to the DS-230 package NVC sends out.

The K1 items on our timelines are packet 3 and packet 4 (although, we receive packet 4).

    Call asap!!

NVC has only been taking a few days to review packages.

Saylin, can you give me some advice about my DS 3032 issue? I've started a thread here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/366705-whats-the-nvc-doing-s-keeps-sending-ds-3032-email/page__pid__5359195#entry5359195

    I'm so confused!

  15. NVC keeps sending me the DS 3032 pdf. :S I don't know... I sent my Choice of Agent by email on 1st May, when they first asked me to mail it on 30th April. I received another DS 3032 email on 5th May, after which I resent my email today and *again*, got the DS 3032 email from them. So confusing! :S

I'm not going to send another one because, according to what I've learned here on VJ, you shouldn't have to send it twice. And I made sure I got everything right in the email. :\

Did anyone else have a similar issue?

  16. You, the beneficiary, will send the form to the NVC to let them know who your agent is. If your agent sends it in, it won't seem right. After all, it'll be your signature on the form so you should be sending it. Likewise, when emailing, the beneficiary sends it. This was, they know you have appointed someone as an agent and henceforth, the NVC should communicate with them. I hope this helps!
