Got my visa!! AP ended at 3.5 weeks. Passport in hand!!!
-
Thank you for asking. I called DOS and they said it's still in AP. Will call embassy today Insha'Allah.

Thank you Sarah! Jazaakillah... :) You give me good hope. I felt sad for a couple of days but now I'm trying to just look at it in a positive way and remind myself there must be good in it, Insha'Allah, for me. Need the duas!
-
You and my husband are in the same situation... I mean, wives in AP despite having a good interview! Mine was on 31st July... hoping it'll be a short AP Insha'Allah. We're not contacting any elected official yet though.
-
Wow, congratulations! Lucky you! We had our interviews on the same day but I don't recall seeing you. My interview, with an English-speaking CO, was at about 8:20 and I left the embassy at 8:40.

Interview Result: Administrative Review / AP... Interview was very brief and all good, Praise be to God. We're positive and hopeful. Kept my passport and when I asked if they needed anything more from us, she quickly said, "No, no, you've already sent us everything." Detailed review to come later! If any of you know of someone who's been through a brief AP, especially a girl beneficiary, please let me know. Thanks!!

...send in a picture of me with my head partially covered, leaving the hairline and ears visible. I had asked this question on VJ too and one of the responders said the girl ahead of her in the Immigration interview queue was asked for non-Hijab pictures besdies the Hijabi ones she had sent in. My point is, yes, they should make it clear on the website instead of confusing people later!
-
Thank you! I'm sorry to hear why your case got held up at this stage. I wear the Hijab too and I encountered a similar dilemma when having to decide whether or not to send pictures to the NVC in which my hear was covered. My husband was of the opinion that this would cause issues while I pointed out to him what was on the State Dept's website, like you did. Eventually, we decided to...

Have you seen this? http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?cfl=0&id=120982
Read the embassy review below which mentions how they got denied but won the appeal and went on to get approved. This person's offering advice to anyone who's in a similar situation. I thought it might be of help to you!

After a long, long wait, my husband and I have finally just about reached the interview step. 9.5 months from our priority date and just over 10 months since our wedding... it feels surreal. We're just hopeful now that the interview will be smooth and easy for us, so we can be together again, God-Willing.

Thank you! Jazaakillah. I need the duas... am pretty nervous+excited... and yes, will post the interview experience Insha'Allah.
-
Thank you!! I'm looking forward to getting through and receiving my visa, Insha'Allah. I will post my interview experience Insha'Allah.
-
Yes of course, recent reviews have been worrying me too. So I'm happy for you and positive for our case, Insha'Allah.
-
Mabrook on getting the visa!! My interview is in about 10 days and this is good news to go in with. Insha'Allah.
-
Interview is on 30th July Insha'Allah. Preparing for it... have my medical on 6th July Insha'Allah.
How're you and Mrs "Ohitzjah"?
-
Assalamu alaykum, I'm so shocked and sorry to hear about what happened! I'm making dua that you are able to patiently await the justice that your case so truly deserves. Ameen! Hang on and have faith!

When did you get notified by the embassy about your case? I got my interview date on 7th June but no further correspondence. Should I call the DOS number? This part is not very clear to me. : I need to get my medical done too but I'm assuming I need a letter from the embassy confirming my interview date, to do that?
-
Thank you for the comment! It's really nice to hear you're married and settled now. How is everyday life?

7 weeks to the interview and 8 weeks to the date Hubby gets here to take me to the US, by God's Will. :) *counting days*
