Wife visa is approved!!!

It was very quick 5 mins interview. Just usual questions what your husband do? did you go to honeymoon? when did you first meet? How do you keep in touch (emails, phone etc.). She provided phone logs. They did not ask for any photographs of marriage. She had marriage photographs with her, though.

Total hours she spent in consulate was 2 hours. She was first in the line when she entered.

So, we are done with immigration process at consulate. Now POE is left and will be in February.

Wife is soon going to leave for Mumbai. She is nervous (just want to be done with this), but I helped and talked to her out of nervousness as much as I can. Interview is on December 30th.

Hopefully, everything will be all right. I do want to thank all the VisaJourney members who have contributed to the forums. I have found many answers to my questions from here. It helped a lot. Thanks all.

My case was sent to Mumbai Consulate on 7-Dec according to NVC AVR so if Mumbai consulate is sending the interview pacakge then we should receive something in coming week..but I am not waiting for that I have already scheduled Medical on 17 & VFS document submission on 19..

We are also waiting for packet from Mumbai consulate, but have not received anything yet. I believe our case was sent to Mumbai sometime in last week of November, but we still have not received anything. Anyway, I think it does not matter; we will have letter sent via email.

I went to VFS to check the documents that I need to submit.See as you have already submitted the original birth certificate you need not to submit any more birth certificate just give them the xerox copy, now if they ask for original one just show him the appointment letter where the Original Birth certificate is marked as O (means they are already having the Original birth certificate).

Thank you for the reply. This will help a lot. My wife also went to VFS and asked about documents need to submit. They did not mention the original birth certificate and just a copy. But one of my friends' wife was asked about it. She already had the original available, which she submitted upon request. She also submitted original birth certificate to NVC as well. I just wanted to make sure if anybody out there, who is done with submitting documents to VFS, has encountered such scenario and what they have done.

But your answer does help to make argument to VFS that we have submitted original and we don't have another original except copy.

Hi I have questions for submission of documents at VFS in Ahmedabad. Do we have to submit original birth certificate at VFS? We have already submitted the original birth certificate at NVC. What should we say if they ask for it? I have heard that they might ask for original birth certificate.

If any body has experience with VFS in Ahemdabad, please let me know.

I have quick question to other who already scheduled for an interview. Do we get appointment letter in MAIL? I already have received appointment letter in EMAIL. But just wondering, do they send anything in hard copy through MAIL as well?

One with a case closed of late August and another case closed of early September.

Give NVC a call if you have not today. It seems interview dates are starting to come out now.

As of October 25th, 2011, MY CASE IS CLOSED !! Now just waiting for interview date which will hopefully be in December bc there was no date available in november. Wooooot though!

I called NVC today and received same response as I used to before. Asked me to call again in second week of November. What scares me is they are saying they cannot predict when they will schedule the interview. I just hope to get December interview and no more further delay.

Agree, anybody get December interview for Mumbai, please post and let us know the good news so there could be hope for others who are lined up for this interview in December. Waiting for an interview for so long is really frustrating. Hope to hear some good news soon. Good Luck.

My case was completed on 26 Sep and waiting for visa interview at Mumbai..

It seems that no one whose case(IR1/CR1) has got completed in Sep have got visa interview date for Mumbai..

Has anyone tried to contact NVC or DOS recently abt interview at Mumbai

I called NVC last Friday and was told to call in second week of November. I have been calling them every week since our case was completed and have been hearing same message from different operators. Mumbai consulate was over capacity... NVC could not schedule interview... we cannot predict when it will be schedule... call back in second week of October. Now they say call back in second week of November.

I am also waiting for an interview for my wife. Case completed on 09/08/2011. I hope we get December interview. Good luck all.
