      That would've been very hard to do, since he lives in England and I would've been in California!

      I have no place to stay in the USA and could not afford airfare to get back to California for the I-130 interview, so I explained in writing that it would be an extreme hardship. Several months later, our petition was approved. Not much more I can say really =)

      But that's an old update ... I wrote them a very sincere letter explaining why I was unable to attend and they went ahead and approved our petition =)

      Oh no, I already am staying with him. We are both in the UK. The interview was for me (the US citizen) and they wanted to interview me in California.

      I'm not sure, but the main reason I was unable to attend the interview was due to our finances not being able to buy me airfare, and once I got there, no place to stay =(

      Apparently, it's pretty rare for the Petitioner to be interviewed

      and most likely wouldn't have resulted in a positive outcome even

      if I had attended.

      My husband was deported in 1996) after being arrested (but not convicted

      or charged) for having meth on him.

      He even has an 18 year old daughter who's a US Citizen. The government

      won't even let him see her. It's f***** ridiculous that a father

      can't even see his own child!

      No, we were trying to immigrate my husband to the USA. I've been in England since January 2011 with my husband. But USCIS wrote me asking me to attend an I-130 Interview back in Santa Ana, California. We weren't able to come up with airfare or a place for me to stay =(
