  1. Hello VJ'ers I really need you comment's I receive my visa last november 15 and i find out that my visa will be expired December 13, 2012..is this normal? please i really need you opinion with my worries..God Bless everyone

hey girl! we have the same problem with the medical exam, I think we were together during the sputum which was July 16-18 and came back Sept 17. Had my sched for interview Oct 3. My visa also expires Dec 2012, but I am here now in the United States...they gave me the Feb 2012 extension since that is the 90 days allowance for the marriage to take place. don't worry about it, don't forget your CFO too! good luck and have a safe trip

  2. LAX sees quite a few immigrants on a daily basis so they know what they are doing. Me and my fiancee (now wife!) went through LAX in sept 2009. The officer was not the politest individual you will meet but he was very "efficient". You will go to the non-us citizen line and depending on the time of day, wait for 45-60 minutes to get to the desk. He will ask some typical/standard questions but mostly he or she will be going through your large envelope the embassy gave you marked "do not open". Lots of stamping, paper shuffling and sorting. They will digitally fingerprint and photograph you. He or she will stamp your small white card (I-94) and passport. Don't lose your I-94!, it is very important. Hopefully they will staple it inside your passport so it will not be lost. Some POE's fail to do this and that card is easy to lose. They will remind you to get married within 90 days (as a K-1 which we were). That is about it. Go through the desk area and retrieve your bags on the baggage belt. Once through customs you will exit the terminal, turn right and walk down to the terminal for your connecting flight. We flew Delta to Atlanta so we went to terminal 5. It is a short walk if your bags have wheels.......

You will do all your processing in LAX.

There are quite a few POE reviews here.....

    Best wishes always.

thank you very much for your shared experienced. I do hope mine will be as smooth as yours.

    God bless

Here are some reviews for LAX

Safe trip and welcome to US soon!!

thank you very much. really appreciated!!!

  3. Good Morning VJer's!!!

I am finally on my way to Atlanta! Approved visa last Oct 3, 2012.

Got to ask your opinions on my port of entry. My port of entry is LAX for five long hours! Am I gonna have my CIQ (customs, immigration and quarantine) there or in Atlanta? For those who have experienced the LAX as their port of entry, can you share yours?

    Thank you very much

  4. Hi Vjers!!!

I am scheduled for the 16th of July for interview at US Embass-Manila. I am from out of town specifically Cebu. I would like to get some of your inputs and hope you can shed light to this matter. Is it possible for me to just be in Manila days before the interview and have my medical at St Luke's? Is it possible? Has anyone done this before? I find it very impractical to be going back and forth specially now that we are experiencing typhoons. Please I need your thought on this matter

    Thank you very much

  5. Hi VJers!!!

I have a scheduled interview on the 16th of July, I really need your opinion on this matter. I am not from Manila, of which the US Embassy is located. Can anybody tell me if it is okay for me to have my medical at St. Lukes on the 11th or days before my interview? I find it very impractical to be going back and forth if I can do it days before the interview. Has anyone done this before? Please give me some thoughts about this before I could purchase a ticket.

    Thank you very much

  6. Congratulation! That sounds like a very long time, hopefully the rest of the process will go much more

smoothly. If you don't mind, can you share what the RFE's were for? I believe this would be insightful

for many people here. Thanks. Hopefully you will be together very soon after waiting so long. The time

you waited will just make it all the sweeter.

Hi! the first RFE was his DUI records way back 20 years ago, so we sent USCIS the necessary court records that cleared him. thought that twas enough when the second RFE came asking for his 2 passport-style photos which we sent when we applied for the I-129F. anyways, we got it after 18 days from receipt of the second RFE

  7. Hi Vjers!!! Finally after ten long months of waiting we got our NOA2...with two (2) RFE's and the pain and loneliness we finally have the most awaited. Thank you so much for all! Now is my turn to do US Embassy. THank you LORD for this blessing and hope to do good with my USEmbassy interview. THANK YOU SO MUCH VISA JOURNEY!

  8. Point one is good. Marrying solves nothing. Point two to visit more is good, but rather than appeal, it will be cheaper, faster and easier to file a new petition, visit some more and combine ALL the evidence, including a SECOND petition, for the next interview.

Hello Alla! I just want to ask you a question regarding my situation. Filed July 25,2011..got an Rfe then filed an expedite twice and the second time just this recently and I think twas denied. Then we got another RFE this April 18 , they needed 2 passport-style photos of my fiance (petitioner) of which we submitted when we filed our petition. Can you give me a reason why they needed another 2? And on April 27 they received those photos and asked us to wait again for at least 60 days?

Thank you very much for your input. Help me understand this, it has been too long the wait. VSC

  9. Actually youre not on RFE, what thyere asking you are other evidences that you qualify for the expedite youre asking for. You used the medical issues for your case to be expedited right? you sent them medical records but they asked for some more documents, theyre not satisfied with the docs you sent them..

we got the mail and they need 2 copies of my fiance's photo. I hope this is it!!! I don't know what happened to the passport-style photo we sent them the first time, and why they are asking 2 more.

  10. If I were you, I would call

National Customer Service Center (NCSC): 1-800-375-5283 and request to speak to a Tier 2 CSR. Be firm (nice, polite, but firm) and request to speak to someone who can give you answers!

Can a beneficiary call and be entertained? I did try that once and they refuse to talk to me. My fiance has difficulty talking. He is using an electrolarynx. I just wondered what happened to our application for expedite, no news aboutit.

  11. Hi everyone!!!

Help me understand what is going on with our case:

Last March 14 we requested an expedite process on our case, we file I-129F July 2011. They required us to send some medical certificate and the diagnosis and prognosis and my fiance's letter explaining the why's. We mailed it March 23, 2012 and till now we have not receive any notice from them, not even a word. So we called their customer service to verify and only told to wait (?)

Yesterday, April 19, 2011 I noticed at their website while I was hoping to find good news, I saw another Request for Evidence asking us for Initial Evidence...but till today we have not receive any email or mail from them what we are suppose to send them.

Can you please help me understand our case?

We are so depressed and specially my fiance HELP US!!! WHAT SHOULD WE DO??? THANK YOU VERY MUCH

  12. What was your RFE for?

Hi! the RFE was about his DUI's that was committed 20 years ago. We sent USCIS the pertinent documents and all of which are cleared. Actually he was never apprehended or what, I really don't know how it is in the US. But I was the one who gathered all the court dispositions and submitted them all to my fiance and he sent it to USCIS. From there on, nothing has been said or done about our case.

  13. Hi! thank you so much for taking your time to help. I don't know why USCIS forgot our petition. They just don't know how my fiance feels, what he is going through alone without a voice. I am his voice, I am so far away and it is very expensive for us that I am dealing with all his medical needs. There is nothing more I can do. I am with him on the web after work and his waking moments.

I am from the Philippines, the beneficiary I don't know if Ombudsman will hear me out. Because of his inability to talk for now, he evades meeting people. Only his colleagues at work and some neighbors sees him. I don't really know the mechanics of your system too. I AM REALLY IN NEED OF YOUR HELP..THANK YOU

By the way, looking at your profile, you are also from Georgia? My fiance is from Georgia too, Snellville Ga. It's nice to know that you belong to one state.

  14. Write to the Ombudsman

If you have any medical reports then send them to prove he had surgery

    cisombudsman@dhs.gov

    How Can the Ombudsman Help?

If you have tried these regular USCIS avenues and have not received the information you seek, please submit DHS Form 7001 to the Ombudsman. We will look into your case and review how we may be of assistance.

If you have a comment about the NCSC or the above USCIS customer service process, please send the Ombudsman an email at cisombudsman@dhs.gov. Please note that the Ombudsman can request that USCIS review an NCSC call to further understand your inquiry, if you called the NCSC within the last 90 days. It is also helpful to have the date and time of the call, the phone number you used to make the call, as well as the ID number of the customer service representative or the officer’s name with whom you spoke.

For all other inquiries, please submit DHS Form 7001 to our office.

  15. Hi to all! I need you to help me with my current case status. It has been a very tiring, long, difficult, stressed eight long months of waiting! I got an RFE Nov 2011 and sent documentations Dec 2011. They said we have to wait for 60 days from receipt of said RFE documents.

I tried to call (beneficiary) but they won't give any information because they want my fiance (petitioner) to do the calling. Here is the problem, my fiance cannot talk at the moment. He underwent removal of his vocal cords last November 2011. He is now on the process of learning to talk with a gadget. It has been difficult for him. His lone surviving aunt sent a letter of inquiry for and in behalf last week. No response. Every time I browse on our case status it has always been the same from the date of receipt.

Can anyone please shed light on how to go about this? We really need your precious input on this matter. PLEASE HELP.

    THANK YOU

  16. Yay!

We made it like so many others. Oh. Yeah! Yerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This has been a tough experience in many ways, but we made it! I am actually struggling for words. Ha!

Anyone who is in the process, just hang in there, research, research, familiarize yourself with all the Immigration terminology, other people's experiences and be as organized and together as you can when collecting and collating all the evidence and paperwork. Make checklists, and make checklists for the checklist.

Just be a team and you will get through it.

THANK YOU VJ community I would not have got this far without all the invaluable information along the way.

I will update about my experience at the Embassy in London in a few days.

    :)

    congratulations!!!! so happy for you

  17. Hi there! I need your advice my fellow VJ's. Today is the 60th day since USCIS recieved our Response to the RFE. Can you please help me what I should do? It has been seven long agonizing month since we filed our I-129F. Can we call USCIS now, but I have a problem too my fiance is a laryngectomee (he can't talk right now). Can I call for him? Or his aunt who is also a US citizen? I need your help here! thank you so much

  18. Hi everyone!!

We're waiting for our NOA2 and has just passed the 5 months mark since NOA1. I know this is quit normal and that many people are/ have been in this situation. However, according to the immigration timeline here at VJ petitions with a NOA1 of september 6 are being processes (ours was aug 10), so it sounds like our petition has gotten somewhat delayed.

So considering that, one starts to wonder if anything has happened to our application. The rest of you guys that have found yourself to still be waiting for the NOA 2 after most people have received theirs, what have you done? I read something about calling a congressman or filing for a service request, when is it possible to do this?

Maybe we just have to relax and wait a few more weeks:).

    Hi Everyone!!!

I am so sad too like anyone of you. We got our NOA1 July 2011 and got an RFE Nov 18, 2011 sent our reply Dec 14, 2011 they said we have about 60 days waiting in response to our RFE.

And February 14 (VAlentines Day!) we hope and pray that we can have our most AWAITED gift from USCIS!

Good luck to all of us. God bless

  19. Hi everyone! We have been on the edge lately, we filed our I-129F last July, 2011 got our NOA1 two days after. As we wait along, after five (5) long months of waiting we got an RFE! This pertains to my fiance/petitioner of his past DUI's committed twenty (20) years ago. We received the RFE on Nov. 18,2011, gave USCIS our response Dec 12, 2011(note that we didn't receive any e-mail or text), I always check with USCIS homepage wherein we can view our progress and read that they got our Response to RFE on Dec 18,2011.

As of this writing, we are still waiting for our NOA2 and it's almost seven(7) months since NOA1 and a month since the RFE, my question is this to wit:

Is this normal for an RFE to be this long for USCIS to respond?

Will this be ever a cause of denial? My fiance needs me all the more after surgery of his vocal cords, he can't talk for quite awhile.

As all of those who made it and finished their journey, please give me a little of peace of mind.

Is it okay if we call USCIS and inquire the status of our petition?

Thank you so much for any advice that you can share

  20. Hi fellow VJers!!! Please help me understand. We sent our I-129F last July 11, 2011, got our NOA1 July 14,2011. We never heard from them till November 18,2011 requesting for evidence of my past DUI's which I committed twenty (20) years or more ago. We sent them the necessary documentations that they needed December 14,2011 and up to this very moment we still are waiting for their response to our case. I have observed some cases wherein they also received RFE's and the response is so fast in fact, in less than a month they already got their NOA2.

Can anybody please give me some of your precious time to enlighten me about why is my case any other different from them? Does this mean we might not get a good response cause it took them so long to decide? Please help me understand.

Thank you and May the good Lord help us

  21. According to Igor's timeline, not many from July and August have received their NOA2's at all. In fact, more from December 2011 than from late July or August.

We are July filers too...we received an RFE November 18,2011 and we sent USCIS our response and the necessary documentation that they asked last December 12, 2011. We are still waiting for our NOA2 to date. It is so heart-breaking that we were apart during the holidays. It has been a very long journey and still is, six months is like eternity. We do hope and pray that we will be together on Valentines Day! Vermont Service Center please make it happen for us. And to you my prayers, hope we will be getting our NOA2 soon. Good luck and God bless

  22. Thank you everyone for all your most sincere opinions on my inquiry...And I stand corrected on the dates too. He is more than sober now for a long time. Thank you also for your concern for me regarding the past of my fiancee, the many "bad habits" as we might call it.And all 4 DUI's he did not put anybody to harm.

Again, thank you all. May all of us be happy before the year ends. God bless

  23. Hi Everyone!!! We received a Request for Evidence (RFE) last Dec 18,2011) concerning my fiancee's DUI's more than 20years ago. They (USCIS) asked him to provide them court dispositions on said DUI's. My fiancee and I has to go through the courts of which those DUI's were committed, glad that the said courts supervisor's were very accomodating enough to help us. We sent them (USCIS) all four of the DUI's court dispositions committed twenty plus years ago. And USCIS received them December 14,2011.

Now, for my questions and need badly your opinions on this. Will all the DUI's that were committed twenty plus years ago and my fiancee paid for all those, will this hurt our application? I really need your thoughts on this matter. We started our journey July 2011 got our NOA1. Thank you fellow VJer's and God bless us all.
